I'm looking into buying a wakeboard. A friend, who is an experienced boarder, is offering to sell me his Hyperlite Latitude for $250, which is in immaculate condition w/ bindings (not sure what bindings, but they're supposed to be really good as well). <BR> <BR>My question, does anyone have any experience with these boards? Perhaps any advice on them? This a pretty good deal? <BR> <BR>I'm 90% sure I'll be getting this board, but wanted to know if there was anything I should know about it. technology has come a long way in 5 years. do yourself a favor and get something newer. What bindings are on the board? I think $50 would be a good price for the board, regardless of what condition it is in.

If the bindings are as old as the board is you are paying too much. The Latitude is from about 1998 and boards have changed alot since then. You can get a New Hyperlite Motive with beginner bindings new for under $300 from a board shop. <BR>GET into you local shop and talk to the experts!

who needs enemies w/ friends like ones that charge you $250 for a 1998 board and bindings? <BR> <BR>seriously, unless the board has 2003 or newer bindings, i wouldn't pay $250 for the setup.

He says it's his brothers board, and he believes it to be a 2002 or 2003. He said it's a great board, and I do trust the guy. Perhaps it's not a Latitude?

if it's a latitude, it's not an '02 or '03. The last year they made that board was 2000.

What's the difference in an older board that was bought recently new, and is still in new condition, and that of a more "up to date" board? If that question makes sense.

Appreciate all your help. I was looking at getting an '05 Liquid Force Evo (Element bindings) or '05 O'Brien Oasis (links) combos before I considered this deal. I can get either for $290 out the door. What do you all think about those boards? Decent price?

I havent ridden either of those boards, but they have got to be better than what your friend was gonna sell you. Tell your friend to get with the program.

I'm pretty sure that Hyperllite still sells the Latitude to stores like Sports Authority and Bass Pro Shops. <BR>

I could see that being true...but if you get the xl/xxl size, which I think is the biggest one, it'll fit your foot perfectly if your size is 11, which lucky enough for me it does, but if you have bigger feet I would argree with that. Besides that the only part that i would say is not too comfy but it'll be more flexible after using them for a while is the tongue...it sorta is really tight on the top of my ankle but that will definetly get more loose with riding.
