I got a lot of help and ideas from people on this forum while doing my tower speaker project. Several people asked me to post the results and costs. Bill from http://www.monstertower.com was nice enough to post it on his DIYTOWER website:
http://www.bierbower.net/diytower/Docs/DIY%20HLCD%20Tower%20Speakers.doc
Sorry the download is 1.5MB due to the pics.

Hopefully this will give someone else some DIY ideas.

Are those 8" speakers? and a horn in between?

how is the sound?
|
The info is in the article....they are 10's. I'm guessing the sound is very similar to that of one entity 1010 (same components, different enclosure. I've run a single 1010 before. The soudn is still awesome. My guess is that you probably get close to 80% of your volume from one 1010, the remainder comes from the other one. I run each "pod" on a separate amp and can shut one or both off. There have been times where I forget to turn one on.....while noticable, it took me a while to really notice the volume difference.

can someome tell me what the inside of an addiciton type speaker looks like.
Is is basically a driver fastened to the back of the speaker?
Can anyone help me find a diy link to someome who has built this kind of system?
|
Jon,
Although simillar designs are available, the speaker that is in the NVS Addiction is made for NVS and no one else. This has been Engineered and designed to meet the needs of the Rider in the elements that we ride in, and at well over 75 feet back.
D out

Duane I just wanted to say that you are awesome. You built an amazing product and sell it at a reasonable price. On top of that you support us people who are making our own. If I had the money and didnt want to try this myself I would definetly do business with you.

Thanks
