Hey guys

I came to the point where i really need a higher wake to perform some tricks , but without alot of people in the boat the wake of our malibu vRide is really inconsistent.

We are running on stock center ballast (Which is 500# i think) and nothing else atm, but i am looking at spending some money on extra ballast to get ourselves a better wake (Which i know the boat can, it was huge when we had 12 ppl on our boat)

We also have a power wedge, but sometimes we cant set it to "max" because the wake curls, which makes the wake unusable because the nose of my board "dives" through it and makes me faceplant the water.

Do you guys know any proper ballast setups giving me a good wake (bow ballast? side?), without it costing me a fortune too? (Im dutch, there arent alot of fatsac sellers over here) And could you explain me where to put the sacs? Like under the seats or something? Because i dont understand certain words in certain topics, like "left locker" n stuff.

Thanks in advance!

Bob.

If you have 500 under the floor try 500 in the bow and 500 on each side of the motor for a total of 2000. Then if you add another 500 on the floor by the back seat it will make a huge difference.

Nick and I had the set up he is talking about in my 05 Vride. Throws a great wake no need for the wedge, actually took mine off the boat

Maybe it's just me, but my two of my friends have Vrides one is an 2006 the other 2007. I really think their wake with the stock ballast and wedge down is awesome. Both of their boats have hard tanks in the back. From reading your post it the way I understand it is you only have a center tank?

I actually removed the hard tanks and replaced with soft tanks. Allows for more weight. I'm also running the middle tank full and front soft sac full as well. With the v-ride its better to add more weight to the front of the boat then the back

Chris

I run the following

- Integrated bow sack(250ish) up front plus 120-240 of lead up front
- middle tank full
- 750's in the rear...take out the false wall for a couple extra lbs.

I move the a couple pop bags around depending on who is up front or in the "cabin" area

I like to just get the swim platform under water

makes for a nice wake...

(Message edited by johnsvt on July 20, 2009)
