Worlds Largest Plane.
This thing is no joke. They used 2 "747-400's" to make this one plane.

awesome machine.
BTW they pulled engines, avionics, gear and other stuff from the 2 747s. fuselages and everything else are a new. 400K lbs of thrust. can't wait till they start testing it and strapping stuff to it. |
Yes Nacho. it says they took the cockpit from one 747 as well as the landing gears. Lots of energy to bring a space craft out of Earths atmosphere. I guess bringing it to 35 Thousand feet and then lighting the candle is a lot more cost efficient then a traditional rocket launch. Looks like we are getting closer and closer to space travel day by day and this is a tangible real time machine, very cool that Private money like Paul allens is leading the way. Years ago only the government could afford to do things like this

It is very cool to see some people put their money where their mouth is on space travel. Kinda surprised Musk pulled ties in 2012, I thought he would've been a great partner on something like this.
stratolaunch plane makes a lot of sense. cuts down on ridiculous stage 1 burn costs. |
I AM a bit surprised it's ceiling is only 36,000 ft
