94 S10 blazer 4.3 cpi problems

I am hoping there are some mechanics out there that might point me in the right direction. I have a 94 s10 blazer with the 4.3L vortec CPI(multiport) motor. About a month ago it started to become hard to start. It is taking 2 or 3 5 second cranks to get it to fire up. Now all of a sudden it starts sputtering and dies or almost dies when it is warm. It sputters really bad to where I basically have to cruise at a rough idle. The fuel pump is workign. I hear it fire up when I turn the key and I also pressed the fuel bleed valve and fuel spit out pretty good. Any ideas on what to check or replace?

Not trying to be a smart alek, but it could be a number of things -

First things to check -
Gas Cap - This is a sealed fuel delivery system, if the cap doesn't have a good seal, it could cause the issue.
Fuel injectors - The injectors may be worn or clogged.
In-line fuel filter or pump - you may have fuel at start up, but either unit could be clogged slightly and can't keep up the fuel flow needed for the motor.

- Get a fuel pressure gauge and check the actual pressure (it needs to be around 60 psi).
- Clean out the IAC valve and throttle body
- How old are the air filter & spark plugs?

Google found known problems with fuel pressure regulator on the 4.3L: http://www.techsupportforum.com/foru...rt-578190.html

thanks guys. I am going to check the fuel pressure, change the fuel filter, cap, rotor, wires and plugs. I have all this already so might as well do it anyway. If it really comes down to it I may have to replace the Injector spider, MAP sensor, EGR valve and Fuel pressure regulator. Lucky for my I am direct with a lot of the manufacturer's so I could probably replace all that and only be out about $300.
