what are capped fins?

Evidently, by the information on the link given above, a capped fin allows you to bolt a bigger fin over the molded in fin. I would think that would save you a whole 30 seconds over the prehistoric method of actually taking one fin off to put another on.

capped fin system on the CWB Prodigy? It's just a fin "extension" per se. They drilled holes through the center molded fin (1 of 3 on one end) and they made it so you can attach another fin on top of the center one, making it longer.

Except that the "uncapped" molded fin has a flat top &amp; 2 holes in it, where the 30-seconds-longer-to-put-on shorter fin would be a real fin. <BR> <BR>I don't get it...

i ride an 04 prodigy. great board by the way. from what i understand, and it is true, it is designed to take on sliders. the capped fins give them more structural integrity, not for saving time putting them on. you can take the fins off and still have a solid 1/2 inch fin in the center. perfect for sliders and very strong. <BR> <BR>i use to ride an absolute plat. i think the 04 prodigy lands softer too. the board has the best release of any board i have ever ridden. perfect for beginners learning surface moves.
