Hey guys, I want to do an out of bounds photo in photoshop but I can't find a good tutorial. Anybody know of any?

Walt 10-26-2008 5:01 PM

Try youtube.

ladythump 10-27-2008 11:22 AM

Actually I found a guy on flickr who did a PDF tutorial. It's really good. Here's my first two attempts: <BR> <BR><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ronianash" target="_blank">www.flickr.com/photos/ronianash</a>

jjakober 10-27-2008 2:02 PM

Those are really cool! Nice job. <BR> <BR>Do you have the address for the tutorial?

ladythump 10-27-2008 2:11 PM

<a href="http://www.logicscape.com/oob_tutorials/" target="_blank">http://www.logicscape.com/oob_tutorials/</a> <BR> <BR>Try that!

helix_rider 10-27-2008 4:52 PM

Well done Ronia...those shots are sweet...especially the snowboarder. Blow that bad boy up and put it on a wall somewhere <IMG SRC="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/happy.gif" ALT=":-)" BORDER=0>

ladythump 10-27-2008 7:08 PM

Thanks Loren. I don't think I got the crop just right so I'm going to rework it tonight. Appreciate the feedback though.

downfortheride 10-27-2008 7:22 PM

What a great project! Here is my first wack at it. <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/87667/640088.jpg" alt="Upload">

jjakober 10-27-2008 7:37 PM

Damn..that was quick. Nice job!

ladythump 10-28-2008 8:16 AM

Looks sweet Josh!

jjakober 10-28-2008 10:00 AM

My first try! <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/87667/640306.jpg" alt="oob">

helix_rider 10-28-2008 10:15 AM

Great effect Jakober...I just wish there was a little more headspace, the crop feels a little too tight to me.

jjakober 10-28-2008 10:25 AM

Thanks Loren! Unfortunately thats the top of the original picture<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/sad.gif" border=0>

ladythump 10-28-2008 10:27 AM

Jakober nice job!!

downfortheride 10-28-2008 10:41 AM

Jakober ~~ Nice! That looks sweet, great job with the angle of the picture.

downfortheride 10-28-2008 8:03 PM

<font size="+1">Well I decided to try one more with my boy! <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/87667/640580.jpg" alt="Upload"></font>

jjakober 10-28-2008 9:02 PM

Nice Josh! <BR> <BR>I just finished one up of my son also. <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/87667/640591.jpg" alt="1">

Walt 10-29-2008 7:04 AM

Nice work guys ! I like the background on your shot Jakober.

helix_rider 10-29-2008 10:03 AM

Jakober...you could probably increase the 'height' of the pictures since almost all of it is plain orange 'background'...then simply clone the rope through the 'new' area to give it a bit more space. I still love it though.

jjakober 10-29-2008 10:15 AM

Loren, <BR> <BR>I was actually sitting around last night and realized how stupid what I said was. I mean this is PhotoShop, I should be able to fix it. So what you suggested is exactly what I did! <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/87667/640685.jpg" alt="1">

fly135 10-29-2008 2:36 PM

JJ, that snowboarding pic is very well done.

steezyshots 10-29-2008 3:36 PM

I wanna try this! Did everybody use the tutorial from logiscape?

steezyshots 10-29-2008 4:41 PM

Messed up a little around the fingers and around the frame. Im hooked now though! <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/87667/640791.jpg" alt="Upload">

Walt 10-29-2008 8:07 PM

I'll have to try it again when I have more time. Thanks for the link Ronia. <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/87667/640824.jpg" alt="Upload">

Walt 10-29-2008 8:10 PM

Someone had posted this action a long time ago. <BR> <BR> <a href="http://www.panosfx.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id= 48&amp;Itemid=27" target="_blank">http://www.panosfx.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id= 48&amp;Itemid=27</a>

timsown 10-31-2008 8:12 PM

jjakober 11-04-2008 10:15 AM

Here is one I did of our good friends daughter: <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/87667/642173.jpg" alt="1">

lfrider91 11-11-2008 6:21 PM

How do you get the edges of the photo so clean?

jjakober 11-12-2008 7:22 AM

I usually layer mask them out by hand, but sometimes use the magnetic lasso tool.

dudeman 11-12-2008 9:54 AM

1st attempt of our yellow lab. Wet dogs are slightly harder. <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/87667/644049.jpg" alt="Upload">

calabriaryder 11-14-2008 9:42 AM
