water heater broke dealing w adjuster(mold on boat) ??
our water heater broke while on vacation and did considerable damage. water also leaked into the garage and as a result there is mold now on my boat. the adjuster states the insurance company isnt responsible for the mold on the boat. i feel otherwise. any tricks or language i can use to get the boat fixed.

Couldn't you just clean the mold off?

The best thing is to read your policy. It will tell you what damage will be covered from the water heater leak.

As an Insurance Agent I can tell you all policies exclude mold. (almost) Mold typically takes a while to develop. How long had the water been running down? Your HO policy won't cover your cars or your boat that is inside a garage. Standard policy stuff. Mold is a really bad issue with insurance companies and typcially not covered. Sorry man....

Call the agent that has your boat covered.

I'm still confused. What are you trying to get out of this? A free detailing?

mik if i want all new skins and a boat cover as well(that has mold all over it)
|
Good luck with that... If the claim is denied know that mold can be cleaned off easily and you can take the cover to a laundromat with XL washer. That should take care of the issue for less than $100.
