http://www.arnoldline.com/ .....I am just taking a poll on the thrill level of riding behind this 400 plus passenger vessel...@ 22mph...it is a nice rampy 4 footer at the least. Tie off on a swivel attached to the flagpole....and wahla....please flood this post...I want honest opinions. Plus notice it is a Cat...so not two wakes...but four to play on.

nick_in_ssp 02-09-2008 12:40 PM

Might be fun to try once but I think it would get old really quick.

johnsvt 02-09-2008 12:41 PM

Does it have perfect pass? I don't like when the driver is constantly changing speed...that ruins my mojo.

mucktoerider 02-09-2008 3:00 PM

this would be a one time thing.....and the torque...and speed is really consistent.....no worries..

helix_rider 02-09-2008 3:05 PM

#1. The water up there is probably usually quite ummm, crappy. Not to mention cold.

#2. When you fall, a jetskier or something would have to pick you up and run you back to the rope.

#3. Would you need a 100+ foot rope?

loren...this will be in august....water will be high 70,s or low 80's.....rides will be in the AM...glass...and we have the US coastguard for a chase boat. This is quite planned out. I am just being a little reserved about too many details just yet, two years ago a ski team from a University did ride behind these boats...but no boarders yet. So this kind of event has been done behind these boats before.

Mythbusted. It's been done before

rs1071 02-09-2008 5:38 PM

Sounds like a pretty cool thing to do.

I've always wanted to bring my boat up to the straits; I figure there'd be some sick pictures when riding around the Mackinac bridge.

rocketdogg 02-09-2008 5:41 PM

I don't think they take those kinda boats into glassy water much. that would also be a small issue.

joshbuzz 02-09-2008 7:03 PM

how hard would it be to get up to speed?? Never been on one, but I'd imagine it'd be a little slow from the start!!

tahoeguy7 02-10-2008 6:30 AM

Daniel Watkins and Josh Saunders rode behind a similar boat then Fuel TV was filming Daniel's First Hand. Wakeworld did an article on it as well. Here is the link:
http://www.wakeworld.com/getarticle.asp?articleid=730

I would

lfxstar 02-10-2008 7:57 AM

Does the Twin Hull make a gnarly spine in the middle? I think it looks really fun. If i didn't have school in august i would be there

davee22ve 02-10-2008 8:05 AM

Sounds fun even for just one pull. With four wakes you could have a blast.

rmcronin 02-10-2008 11:23 AM

It's snowing here. I'd ride behind anything!

mucktoerider 02-10-2008 11:35 AM

josh...getting up to speed is definitely not a problem.......the horsepower is over 2400...plus they have pulled waterskiers before...smaller surface...need more speed to plane out...so definitely not an issue. Morning and late evening hours on the straits can be glassy...we'll check into it. But THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN...so stay tuned! It is all part of a fund raising campaign for the waugachaunce (spell)lighthouse preservation. So it is a cool effort to take part in. We do have the green light from the US Coast Guard and the Arnold Transit Authority.

lachie_mew 02-10-2008 8:35 PM

on watkins firsthand its him and ike. it was a flat wake and wasnt any good for wakeboarding. uike still managed to throw a frontflip

wakeboardinglife 02-10-2008 8:38 PM

Hey I'm willing to try almost anything once. It's the second time that is questionable

tversetti 02-10-2008 10:39 PM

THAT would be awesome.

But like its been said before, middle of the day is far too windy and choppy. Gonna have to get this in pretty early. I dont remember the wake, but I always got to mackinac w/ sheplers :D

mucktoerider 02-11-2008 5:57 AM

lachie...i can tell you for sure...this is not a flat wake....it is a nice rampy wake. Should be fun. more details to come. You can personally email me for any questions you might have.
