Do an inside out wake jump.
Edge out on both sides of the wake.
Go wake to wake!
|
sounds exactly like my goals!!

except i prolly won't get on the water this weekend. hope you do it though!!!

Great thread, Donna! Perhaps we should post a new one of these every Friday?

I like your goals - edging practice is SO important and not enough people work on it.

...land my TS 180 W2W
...bring back the backside ollie 180
...other?
|
Try 7 TS backrolls and re-visit the w2w HS180 @ least once!

I watched some of "The Book" this morning. I have watched so many videos with my son trying to get him to try new things, I feel like I should be able to do it all! I wish I would have started a long time ago! Do you think 39 is too old to be learning inverts?
|
Age is just a number. If you feel that you can picture yourself doing them then go for it. Keep your progression progressive. Meaning learn to go w2w both heelside and toeside, then learn to ride switch and learn 180's w2w both ways. After that you will have a good foundation for bigger spins like 3's and beyond and basic inverts. People get hurt when they try to ride too far beyond their skill level...

(Message edited by wake_upppp on May 29, 2009)

Awesome- great thread!

Nice profile pic, Donna! Are you riding with us old ladies in Nationals in OKC?
|
Kat,

Are you back?
|
I did my ollie's again and they were higher. I did them outside of wake and directly behind the boat.

Next time, I'm going to do TS180!
|
Lake Austin was cold and very busy, so I only attempted SIX TS backrolls! Got close to landing a couple of them! Maybe next time!

Amanda - I am in TX more than FL these days!
|
Kat. When I went with Billy and Terra , Austin water was cold....but when I came back to my home lake, Belton Lake...water was better...wonder why the change in temp?
|
Lake Austin is always cold because it is fed from the bottom of Lake Travis. It is the city's water source, so they are always pulling in new water sitting @ 175 ft deep (aka VERY COLD).

How was your outing with Billy? Everything they may have told you about me is a lie!

Thanks Kat! I would love to ride at nationals, but I don't think I will get that good that fast! I guess I will settle for watching Chandler ride in the boys division.
I did do some edging practice and got pretty comfy jumping one wake and moving back and forth on both sides of the wake this weekend. I didn't quite make it wake to wake, that is harder than I thought it was going to be! I am REALLY sore today!
|
Billy and Terra were super cool. If I can afford it, I will go back for more lessons.... I guess I will just have to suck up the water temp...as long as the sun is out! lol (it rained and was cloudy my entire lesson!)
|
WOW> its so crazy to hear about everyone's weather. Its been so nice here we have been out of dry suites and wet suits for like 3 months now. our water temps are so nice and so our the out sides so if any of you want to come out to az and ride then just let me know..

SO this weekend im going to work on my wake2wake 360 :/ I am so scared of this trick w2w
|
Brittany - you'll do great! Just remember to pop first, spin second.

Got out yesterday for a little while. My knee is still pretty banged up, but I decided that riding switch for the summer (or until I can land w2w pain free) was the way to go. Man were my legs toast!!
|
watch it rain even more....

|
Brittany, I'm up for riding as soon as I get back from my next work trip. Let's make it happen soon!!
