2014 Super Air Nautique 210

10 Attachment(s)
Just arrived and thought I would post some pictures for the wakeworld community. I understand that there may be positive and negative feedback, but all feedback is welcome. I'm happy to answer any questions about this specific boat. It is new and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge, but I will not get involved with arguments or a brand war. Thanks guys hope you like it, more ballast, walk thru transom, new gel lines, recessed NSS system, new wrapped LINC screen, blue tooth polk audio, and more.

NOTE: This boat has the pro wake/surf ballast system upgrade from the factory. If you look at one of the pictures you will see the ballast bag in the rear locker. The hard tank is right next to it and is now mounted horizontally against the side of the lockers, instead of on the floor like previous years.

slipknot 07-31-2013 10:52 AM

I have not heard comments about the wake yet, and it was at WWA Nationals. But the G pulled everything? It will be interesting to see what they did to the wake on this one. It is a new hull?

pkh80 07-31-2013 10:53 AM

Quality!

Interesting how they did the hard tank / bag, that should nix problems with the bag putting too much pressure on engine divider.

How big is the bag? also how do you manage filling the bag vs. hard tank?

tyler97217 07-31-2013 10:56 AM

Looks sweet!

Few more pictures of transom, helm, and seating.

wakedaveup 07-31-2013 10:58 AM

No actaully Nautique really did it right, there are brackets welded on the backside of the divider so that the bag, even with pressure, does not bend or collapse the dividers themselves.

wakedaveup 07-31-2013 10:59 AM

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's completely new, but definitely modified and slightly changed. The transom is much taller that previous years giving the boat a bit more freeboard. I don't have the exact freeboard depth in inches, but if definitely feels that way.

cjh1669 07-31-2013 11:01 AM

Looks awesome, got nay pics where we can see the whole boat?

wakedaveup 07-31-2013 11:03 AM

Image size may be a little big, but this is so that you can see the welded bracket. Nice touch to the ballast system as it should keep the dividers from bowing in to the engine or bending when the bag is full. It's also down low leaving room for owners and techs to work.

pkh80 07-31-2013 11:07 AM

How much rear ballast is there with the bag?

simplej 07-31-2013 11:09 AM

300 lbs
more pics please. i love it

wakedaveup 07-31-2013 11:12 AM

The guys are installing the tower speakers, board racks, and bimini. Tomorrow morning I'll pull it out into the sun and get some good all around shots once it's fully prepped.

wakedaveup 07-31-2013 11:14 AM

-simplej I'll definitely get some more thorough pics once it's fully prepped. I was so excited when we got it today I literally pulled the shrink wrap off got everything out of it and took pics haha.

migs 07-31-2013 11:18 AM

incredible = as always.

cjh1669 07-31-2013 11:19 AM

Love the colors, same scheme I'm thinking of going with my LSV this year

andrew_moreton 07-31-2013 11:40 AM

Looking forward to seeing more of this one!

G didn't pull everything... the 210 pulled all the skate divisions.

wakecumberland 07-31-2013 11:56 AM

Looks sharp! Of all the surf add ons/systems, Nautique wins on aestehtics. I have no idea about functionality, but the NSS is far and away the best looking system. I dont like the clutter of the other surf tabs, surf gate, etc.

DenverRider 07-31-2013 12:11 PM

Do you think the metal flake will look as goofy on these new boats in 5 to 10 years as the metal flake looked on the early eighties boats during the nineties? My dad worked with fiberglass boats and he always told me that metal flake was horribly difficult to repair. Of course he also had something bad to say about anything we couldn't afford. He just didn't want to be bothered with the effort required to get a job that paid more than a couple bucks over minimum wage so we could actually afford nice things as opposed to just looking at the boat show.

wakedaveup 07-31-2013 12:15 PM

You mean you don't like the old school 80's bass boats with flake!!!??? Just kidding ;) but these flake colors have been around awhile and always seem to come back. I don't think you will have problems with metal flake accent colors in 5-10 years. Just my opinion though. I'll get you guys (and possibly girls) some more photos in the morning when the rain clears up and the boat is fully prepped. The new 210 did pull the skate divisions, maybe some of the WW community was physically there and rode behind it, any feed back?

andrew_moreton 07-31-2013 12:18 PM

Dave, do you know if all of the towers on the 210s and 230s will be the textured matte black or can you also color match?

wakedaveup 07-31-2013 3:31 PM

Hey Andrew, for 2014 you can still color match the tower and go with texture. I definitely dig it, especially the colored stuff.

gunford 07-31-2013 4:02 PM

Where is the cooler placed?

Hey Dave. Did anyone give you an explanation for the new seat layout?

simplej 07-31-2013 6:46 PM

^ do tell

miljack 07-31-2013 7:03 PM

@Dave, do the storage bins stay in while the bags are being utilized? If so, taking the trays out would provide a lot more ballast capacity.

That's a great looking boat with a lot of forethought and engineering in the details...Doesn't look very easy to get to the engine bay, what do the techs think?

wakedaveup 07-31-2013 7:36 PM

@ Cory, no they did not and I honestly mean that. Anything I could guess would just be speculation. The new lean backs are much bigger than previous years and pretty plush. I know to some of you guys that loved the whole bench seat that may not mean much, but it's really not that bad when you're in the boat. The new walk thru is a big plus and of course there are filler cushions for the whole sun deck.

@Jack- that is correct, the pro ballast system only fills up about half of the compartment so you the trays can stay in place for ropes, vests, etc. The tech prepping it today didn't say a thing about space or issues. The old tanks were completely on the floor so access was realistically not as deep and harder to get to the bottom of the engine. Since the tanks are now mounted horizontally and up against the side, it gives you deeper access and if you ever drop something in the bilge while working on it, I would say it's easier to get to in a 14 over a 13. Please keep in mind I'm not a tech though, that's just what it looks like to me and I'm fairly confident a tech would agree.

wakedaveup 07-31-2013 7:38 PM

@Jack- One more thing, the 2013 engine cover was just a hatch and was much more difficult to access the front of the engine. The new 210 is more like the G23 in the way the engine hatch opens this year. You can probably see in the pictures, but there is much more access to the front of the engine as well.

MCObray 07-31-2013 7:43 PM

That interior is sharp. Lots of neat things going on with the new 210/230s.

You can color match... one of the Gs at nationals had an orange tower

lionel 07-31-2013 9:36 PM

That is a nice bote! More exterior pics please.

durty_curt 07-31-2013 10:20 PM

They Kept Hydro Gate :(

andrew_moreton 08-01-2013 5:25 AM

Ready for Nautique to put the new 210/230 on their build a boat section of the website so I can play around!

Due to the circumstances of prepping the boat and having customers scheduled to see it today, it's a little tough to get it out of the showroom, but here are some additional photos.

edgeski1 08-01-2013 6:45 AM

i'm loving the idea of the center back seat lifting with the motor cover. nice touch

beleza 08-01-2013 10:46 PM

Loving the look of the cleaner graphics! Looks good overall...

cbarguy1 08-02-2013 8:05 AM

Great color combo on that boat, but I'm a flaker so I would say that. CCs are always a quality act no doubt. I still don't get the angular interior styling and the tower design is tragic. But the hull looks good, much better than the G boats IMO. That will be a boat to enjoy for many years with a good resale value when the day comes.

superair502 08-02-2013 8:22 AM

Did they modify the hull on the 230 at all? I could see if they tweaked the wash on the wake it would be a big seller

KLPDEPAEPE 08-02-2013 12:25 PM

Not too often do I see a boat in a pic that I don't beat up with ole "I would change this, I would change that, that's dumb, that's ugly" but this boat.... I would hook up to that sucker and drag it straight to the water! What a good looking boat! Real nice!

wakedaveup 08-02-2013 12:43 PM

Haha thanks Ryan, I really like it too and black and red always seem to be good sellers. We just got one that's all black and instead of the red flake it's a blue flake. Very nice touch as well.

Mase- the 230 hull was modified, but not completely changed. I haven't played with the new 230 to really comment on the wash or how the changes affected the wake. If your 230 is washing out with additional ballast it could just be weight placement. The 230's we've had (pre 14) even loaded up were really clean wakes. Everyone has a different expectation and preference when it comes to wakes though so it's understandable.

andrew_moreton 08-02-2013 12:59 PM

Dave, would love to see the black and blue flake if you get a chance to snap any pics! I'm always partial to blue over red. And always flake!

wakedaveup 08-03-2013 5:20 AM

Hey Andrew, I'll get a side shot for you today!

Still under shrink wrap, but here's the side shot!

wakedaveup 08-03-2013 6:20 AM

Just in case anyone asks, that is not a trailer, that is a dolly lol.

nitrousbird 08-03-2013 6:30 AM

My opinions:
- Love love love the engine hatch and the access it gives. Same goes for the V-drive access door.
- I like the reinforcements done for the add-on bag. The cover over it is neat, but I think that is just limiting how much of a bag can be put in there. I bet without that cover and a bag that goes all the way up to the locker door would allow a lot more weight in there.
- Same Nautique dash I dislike. I do like the throttle control area and steering wheel
- Seating looks nice, but looks a bit too upright and uncomfortable
- Gray SeaDek is much better than the brown, but I'm still not sold.
- NSS looks very nicely integrated
- Still not in love with the tower
- Driver footrest thing is nice and looks good - but that's where I want my subwoofer

Very nice boat and I'd trade mine for it in a heart beat, but if spending my dollars I don't know if I could get past some of the "Nautiqueness" of the boat.

wakedaveup 08-03-2013 7:16 AM

Thanks for the feed back nitrousbird!

simplej 08-03-2013 7:27 AM

The main question on my mind is this: did the price come down at all? You did lose some fancy stuff by making this change....

I like how teutonic this boat inside and out. It looks engineered rather than designed.

KLPDEPAEPE 08-03-2013 11:12 AM

Black and blue looks good too!

andrew_moreton 08-04-2013 7:36 AM

The black and blue looks great! Like the black going lower on the hull as well. Hard to tell in the first pic if there is still some white on the bottom of the hull or if that is a reflection. But the boat looks great.

DatTexasBoy 08-04-2013 7:47 AM

Sweet looking boats. I love that new POLK AUDIO head unit. Very Clean!!!

cwb4me 08-04-2013 2:21 PM

I like the black and blue combo too!

glove box is on the port side. The Polk Bluetooth unit is inside of that.

05sante 08-07-2013 4:34 AM

Can you post pictures of the wakeboarding wake? Has anyone ridden behind it to comment on how the wake has changed?

wakedaveup 08-07-2013 4:59 AM

Hey Sean I only got surf pics when we went out on the demo. I will be possibly delivering this boat to it's new owner this weekend and will try to get you some wakeboard wake pics.

srock 08-07-2013 12:44 PM

What a sharp rig but I have to say it I cannot get over the single screen all in one dash.

wakedaveup 08-07-2013 1:11 PM

Hey Tim, have you played with one of our LINC screens? They are actaully much more user friendly and functional than they may appear in a picture. The idea was to simplify for the driver. That's why the screen was moved off to the side when compared to a 2011 LINC screen (clearer view through the windshield). I recently sold a used 2011 Malibu LSV with the Maliview system. While I have no personal vendetta towards Malibu and believe they build a great boat, their multiple screens got quite annoying when doing a demo and switching from wake to surf to ski to go home. I felt like I was constantly having to remember which screen had which setting. Just like anything else though, time probably makes it easier to use, but the LINC system is much more user friendly IMO

corerider 08-07-2013 1:50 PM

Dave, what is the deal with the small piece on the tower base? The above pic shows 2 of them in white and the other black. I've noticed on the G series boats that seemed to be a "appearance package" option, but I don't notice anything different on these boats but the tower base. Personally I like the black on the black towers, but the white does look good on the blue tower.

simplej 08-07-2013 2:36 PM

It matches the "carbono" vinyl on your interior.i think.

simplej 08-07-2013 2:37 PM

Is that the new blue or the masters blue on the third pic??

migs 08-07-2013 2:59 PM

freakin SHARP

andrew_moreton 08-07-2013 3:13 PM

I think on Facebook Nautique said that was the new reef blue.

wakedaveup 08-08-2013 5:16 AM

@Jason, simplej is correct, that is a vinyl accent on the tower that blends with the interior scheme. On the G series you can get the "design package" which gives you window vents with white accents and white accents on tower and board racks. Only available on G series at this point.

@Simplej, the picture above is edited a bit and the new "Reef Blue" really stands out so this leads me to believe that it may be Masters Blue. If their FB page said Reef Blue though than I guess it is. In the "2014 Product Rumors" thread I posted a pic of the 2014 G23 in Reef Blue. If you check it out you can see it's a pretty unique blue.

Becks62 08-08-2013 9:24 AM

Did they remove the cooler from the boat ?
