im looking to get a new pump preferably a livewell pump and i want 1600 gph or better but i can't seem to find one that will work all iv'e seen is bilge pumps any ideas?

Search for aerator pumps. There are lots of options. My favorite are mayfair pumps.

we got a 4000gph rule pump few years back... fills 2000lbs in 5mins

I just bought a Rule 2000 gph Live well for the same use. They make a 3600 gph wash down/ live well pump also!

Just keep in mind that the flow rate for 3/4" hose will be between 1400 and 2100 gallons per hour depending on water pressure. You can get 2200 to 3500 gallons per hour from using 1" but going into the sac you will get some restriction.

My inlet is 1-1/4"SCH 40 & my outlet is stepped from 1-1/4" to 1" to the sac's .So the bottle neck would be the sac.

That's typically where the limitation is. Whether or not it's worth it from a cost and complexity standpoint will depend on how much water you're moving and how fast you want it done. <BR> <BR>It's relatively easy to get down to the 5-6 minute range for the amount of water most people fill (240 gallons or so). Getting below that takes considerably more money and effort, which tends to lead to diminishing returns. <BR> <BR>Most people will be perfectly happy with a system that fills and drains in 6 minutes.

On the waterbed fittings if use a heat gun you can get the 1" threaded fittings in there!

I just bought a 3800gph rule livewell/ washdown pump on Ebay for $21<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/blush.gif" border=0>

With some reworking on my pipes I can empty my back sacks (110 gal) in 4 min. with the 3800. That's about 1650 gph on the drain side with 1" piping. I can hear the pump loosing load but still pumping. The pump outruns the gravity flow out of the bags.

This is what I have so far. The lake inlet &amp; bag outlet are on the same line &amp; a cupped scrupper on the bottom to feed on the fly.. The pump line to fill the bags are not in yet. The inlets will feed to the top of the bags from the pump &amp; also a valve with a Y to change the flow to drain out the back of the boat when the ball valve is closed &amp; the bag drain valves are open.

Bought a Shurflo 1000 or 1100 gallon aerator a year ago. Not thrilled with it. Have heard good things about the Rule pumps.

I reworked the tubes again, I had both 1" drain tubes flowing into the 1" Tee &amp; a 1" nipple going into the 1-1/2" pump inlet. Now there 1-1/2" to the pump.

OK, Here are the #'s just for information. The drain time with the rule 3800 is 3.36 min for 110 gal / 33.33 gpm or 1999.8 gph ! Still the rated flow of the pump but it's about all I can get out of the back sac's .. I still have one more 1" threaded fitting to drain the center locker. So, If the pump will pump more then it should handle the added 400 lb bag as the restriction is at the bag fitting.
