Gel coat on the transom where the swim step meets it is getting scratched as riders put on Wakeboards. Where can I find something to put on the transom to protect it?

I second the wicked wakes transom saver!

I have a teak platform on my X1 and noticed that Mastercraft sells a teak transom saver. Does it really work or just help out?

Yes, check it out that is my 06 sanger(v210) not the x-star, they have a picture of. We really like it. The kids sometimes don't pay attention when they are putting on their wakeboards and it would hit the transom. The new protector works great. I got mine through Topside marine in san jose ca give them a call Phone: 408-224-2628

3M clear bra on mine, has been great so far. Does'nt change the look of the boat also.

Woody, I have an 06 X1 with the teak transom saver and yes it works like a charm. It blends in nice with the platform however it isnt very tall so if a newbie doesnt know to put the board up against it instead of on top of it you could end up with a gelcoat scratch.

I just put a strip of 3m across the back of my boat which is clear so you can't even tell it's really there.
|
That works well Dave. I too had some 3M on my transom, but I started manufacturing the pads because I could take them off whenever I wanted to(unlike the tape), they never yellow, they never scratch or gouge, and they will last (hopefully) the life of your boat. I have just recently been able to offer custom graphics on the pads, so I invite you to try one. Drop me a pm if you are inclined!

Whooooohoooooo! Congrats Howard!!! What's his name? Does that mean I have to give your lady her board back?

...end jack
|
HA!! Thanks Derby! Carson Thomas Morton 6-26-07 You got a new boat yet? I got a transom pad with your name (logo) on it!
