Happy New Year Everyone!
Great to see the new 2009 thread going. Let it be another great start for the riding, friends, and an all around good season for everyone.
Let the posting begin!

Doreen

scilost 01-06-2009 2:57 AM

Hey everyone,
I hope all your New Years were sweet as. It was a little different down here, that being the coronas on the beach while you were still waiting for the ball to drop. But I can't wait for my real summer to start in just a few months.

chrisnj 01-08-2009 3:40 PM

nj_alex 01-12-2009 8:04 PM

I spoke to my boat mechanic today and scheduled The Super Air's Spring unwinterization! I love it.
I've also begun some super-preliminary work on Wakefest. I should probably update the Wakefest website soon,
but I haven't in quite a while.

phat_steve 01-13-2009 5:15 PM

Me and the wife just booked another Vegas trip for the first week of April. We are going to make it first time of the summer on the water. Can anyone tell me of a good reasonable travel bag to get two boards and bindings to Vegas SAFELY lol. I am thinkin i can fit our bindings in our luggage cause its going to be 80-90 there so shouldnt have to bring to many clothes. lol

zuka666 01-14-2009 6:17 PM

pearsonville 01-17-2009 11:18 PM

Alex, when we winterize our boats out here, just means we don't need as much ice in the coolers to keep the beer cold. Happy New Year to your 09 thread... Joe from Huntington Beach, CA

nj_alex 01-18-2009 10:19 AM

Funny Joe! Like that picture shows, it gets cold enough here for our riding spot to get good and icy!
Hey Joe...we may have another friend in common; do you know Dave Hobrecht from Huntington Beach? While his
family business was automotive after-market tubular products, I think now he solely does surf art.
http://www.clubofthewaves.com/artistprofiles/dave_hobrecht.html

eustace 01-22-2009 9:59 AM

Nice work Alex! Good to hear 09 Wakefest is already moving along.

We plan on going snowboarding this Saturday and on Super Bowl Sunday (since I'm still bent about loosing to the Cardinals)

I've already been in contact with Shaun Murray, but his 2009 dance card is already kind of full. Still, he wants
me to let him know when the official date is set and he'll see just what he has going on that day.

I'm telling you...the wheels are already turning.

wakescene 01-24-2009 1:34 PM

Hello from SoCal. Here with the wife and my mother in law, visiting my brother in law, wife and their newborn baby. It's overcast and slightly rainy, but no bother as it beats the sub-30 degree weather in NJ. Were in the 50's-60's.

KG

jflo453 01-25-2009 12:43 PM

wow, new thread. happy new year everybody. I just booked my de-winterization from rosses. March 10th is the big day. Anyone who likes to get down with 42 degree water is welcome join me for the start of the season

njskier 01-25-2009 5:40 PM

42 degrees.........isn't that right were we left off in November Joe?

}

wakescene 01-25-2009 10:53 PM

Wow Joe, Hardcore man props to ya. Yes Dave I think that is where you guys left off in Nov. I called the ball in mid-Oct and it was in the upper 50's. Little chilly for my blood.

Did someone say Wakefest 09'???

clubjoe 01-27-2009 10:34 AM

Kevin!

Long time no ride...... Just checking in to say hi...

njladydriver 01-30-2009 4:50 PM

As soon as it's official I'll post it up right here.

CigarFest is coming too! http://www.cigarfest.org/

newmy79 02-03-2009 9:14 AM

Wow it's 2009 and there's a ton of buzz going around which is great to see! I haven't been on WW or posted on the threads in probably over 5 months but certainly had to jump in on the '09 thread and be a part of it! I'm sure that Michele will also drop in and post as well. Things have been really busy with us: wedding planning, renovating our master bathroom, snowboarding, holidays, family stuff, and of course busy with WORK!

Hope everyone is doing well and we're looking forward to the start of the season (though not particularly in a hurry because I'd like to get in a bunch more snowboarding days before it gets too warm).

lazypiper 02-10-2009 11:45 AM

Hi everyone. I have been snowboarding like crazy to pass the time until the boat hits the water. I think I should start looking into a HEAVY wet suit. I'm going to reserve my slip with a Hydro Hoist for the summer.

justinm 02-13-2009 8:49 AM

I know it's still way early but I figured I'd try to meet some people before the season rolls around...I'm getting antsy!!

Anyways, I just moved to Philly a few months ago and I'm hoping to meet some people in the area to ride with regularly. I don't own a boat, so I'm happy to chip in for food, gas, beer, whatever. Thanks in advance!

Justin

eustace 02-13-2009 9:33 AM

Welcome to the thread Clayton and Justin, things will start picking up around here as soon as the weather breaks.

Be sure to check out http://njwakefest.com/ Alex Kinon is the man in the know if you have any question.

Brian

justinm 02-13-2009 9:56 AM

Thanks Eustace, I'll be going to the wakefest for sure. Looks like there's a great scene in Jersey. Anybody here live in Philly?

jflo453 02-13-2009 10:26 AM

I go to school at Villanova, right outside of philly. I keep my boat in trenton a few miles up river of where we ride. I am down there a few days a week starting in early march and like 6 days a week once it gets warm so I am sure I will be seeing you around

wakescene 02-13-2009 10:27 AM

I am so jealous you guys are getting a bunch of snowboarding in this season. I gotta get out there!

Welcome Justin M & Clayton.

justinm 02-13-2009 10:30 AM

KG, I'm going boarding up in the poconos sunday with my buddy...probably to blue mountain. Let me know if you're interested in joining.

njladydriver 02-14-2009 8:24 AM

Welcome to the thread Justin. We have a large group of riders here that ride on the Delaware launching in Bordentown. Our crew rides most weekends launching as early as 6:00am pending the tide, and there are also a few crews that ride here during the week as Joe has posted.

NJ Wakefest is awesome! Be sure to check out the website Eustace posted for you. The pictures from the past 3 years of Wakefest are great! And check out the sites Alex has mentioned in the opening post of this thread as well.

Doreen

Anybody get any new tattoos lately?
Anyone thinking about getting some new ink?

jflo453 02-25-2009 7:23 AM

As I inch closer to dewinterizing my boat, I keep thinking about all of the ••••••••• is broken, wrong, improperly maintained, scratched, etc... and I am realizing that I am gonna have to take 3-4 days to get my baby back in respectable shape before I start riding again. A lot of waxing, polishing, cleaning and electrical work lies in my future, 2 questions though.

1.) Does anyone have any experience installing a fuel flow meter. I dont know much, so anything regarding difficulty, cost, method etc... would be very helpful. Do you have to cut the fuel line and install it in the fuel line itself?

2.) Custom Ballast plumbed in to stock ballast. I am looking to plumb my 3 bags into my stock system permanently. My plan is to cut the overflow hoses in the middle and from there plumb those hoses into the extra bag. There will be one extra bag being added on top of each hard tank. The overflow hose will flow into the extra bag, with an additional hose flowing form the bag to the overflow outlet on the side of the boat. I am pretty sure this should work, but I know a few of you have already done this, so let me know what's up.

Aw yeah!

I'm finally coming out of my self-imposed hibernation through the winter (or worthless) months!

I shouldn't way worthless as I've at least gotten some snowboarding in, but this is no just ridiculous. Let's see some of that global warming!

I hope everyone is well. This is just my late start to what's going to be a kick ass 2009 season of wakeboarding for the Jersey Riders!

JB

wheels are getting rolling on de-winterization for me on sunday probably. First set will probably be the following saturday/sunday so long as the weather cooperates.

nj_alex 03-17-2009 8:08 PM

Well Joe? Have you gotten the boat dewinterized yet? Have you gotten into the 40° water?
http://www.delawareriver.net/temp.php
I can't wait to have the boat back on the water and I'm really psyched to wakeboard again, but for me the
water has to at least be in the mid/upper 50s.

I scrubbed and re Scotch Guarded my boat's canvas over the weekend in preparation for an early April
dewinterization. Alright! It's Joe Pearson checkin' in! I remember driving from Garden Grove down to Tijuana and seeing
Catakina out there along the way, but I've never actually been there. Headin' down to Pearsonville soon,
huh? Nice. Yo, let's get started on Wakefest designs soon. Are you still at Sew Cal or have you gone indy?

In a positive step towards the 2009 season, I'm picking-up my Bordentown 2009 ramp pass tomorrow. It'll
feel good to be back on Farnsworth Ave after such a long absence. And I'm sure a stop at Chickie's & Pete's
will be in order!

Greetings Michael. Warwick, NJ or Warwick, NY?

TY. Warwick, NY. Greenwood Lake NY/NJ.
Paying for my boat slip today!

nj_alex 03-22-2009 6:38 AM

I went to the apple festival up in Warwick a couple of times. I also remember spending the day on Lake
Wawayanda, going into Warwick to have a Chinese food dinner, then hangin' out for the night over at the drive-in.
I wakeboarded on Greenwood Lake once, but it was a cold, over-cast October day and the water conditions weren't
particularly good. I used to go up to The Orange County Fair Speedway up in Middletown every Saturday night too.
I visited the Mid-Orange Correctional Facility a couple of times too.

pearsonville 03-22-2009 8:57 AM

Happy Springtime Alex. I have moved on from SC. Back in Huntington Beach. I can sleep in and surf whenever the waves are great. All my info is on my new website: Action2.net
I will start working on this year's design. Let me kow what you have planned... Aloha Joe.

michaelspsp 03-22-2009 6:21 PM

Alex, the warwick drive-in opened this weekend! spring is here! i am about 8 minutes from the lake. i cut through a farm to get there and see the tower at the correctional facility on my way. actually go the same way every day to bergen county. i have seen the whole lake like butter but if a strong wind comes from the north or south, it can get ugly.. i used to go to the track as a kid when i lived in clifton

Aw yeah!
People, I just got back from San Diego where I saw 5 days worth of the Wakesports Rail Jam and I've got to admit I've got wakeboarding seriously on the brain! What's more, my boat is getting its preseason tune up tomorrow at San Bar Marine! And to top it off, I see some of our people are starting to ride here in the Dirty Jersey!

The season is here!!! Let the fun begin!

I can't wait to get my boat on the water! 3rd weekend in April is the target splash date. Get your suits out!

Eeee-haaaa!
I'm having a dewinterizing party this Saturday, and if a number of different variables come together just
right, we may tow right to the river for our first day out. If the water temp can come-up another
5 or 10 degrees by the weekend I'd be really happy.
http://www.wakeboardnj.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=95

And I was recently told it's "Yeeee-Haw!" Not "Eeee-haaa!"
