Dude.....Is that first pic in Panther Cove??

If so, that's a kick-ass spot. We spent most of our trip there, nice and secluded all the way back in there.

www.numbskullpro.com

Love the shot of the dog on the surfboard. How did the doggie like it?

Shasta kicks butt, was there over Labor Day weekend on a friend's houseboat. Heading back for another houseboat trip in the next few weeks. The best trips at are Shasta. I know you all had a great time!

wow, that surf wake is ridiculous. very nice. haven't made it out to shasta yet. looks amazing.

We really perfected the surf wave off the VLX.
It was tall and long allowing some "real" carving of the wave. The best recipe was 600 lbs in the rear locker, 400 lbs of lead under the rear seat, and 350 lbs in the MLS.

Check it out, I am not even in the trough.

Thanks for posting the photos, Dane. Your surf wake is SICK! Lots of fun!

Kimmy, I don't think Nick (the dog) enjoyed his ride very much. He seemed pretty anxious to get back into the boat after we fell.

JR

Great pics Dane and yes, that's an awesome surf wake. Hope the knee is doing well, is that you in the blue shorts, sorry, hard to tell.

Steve

Hi Steve.

Ya that is me in the blue shorts. My knee is getting better. Surfing is great for the knee. And, I did actually jump the wake for first time in a year while at shasta. It felt fine and it was a great relief.

I have gotten some mail from people asking for the details on the surf wake setup.

1) mls ski locker bag filled (350 lbs)
2) 400 lbs of lead under the back seat as far left as possible.
3) 600 lbs of water in the rear left locker (Budda bag).
4) all people to the left (except for the driver).
5) speed = 10.3 on PP

On my VLX, the rub rail is running just under the water line for the entire back half of the boat.

What kind of boat? Malibu?

greatdane 09-18-2003 10:41 AM

Its a 2000 Malibu Wakesetter VLX.

Here's another shot of JR high up on the wave.
