Has anybody wakesurfed behind the yamaha AR230? If so how was it, and do the jets make it harder to wakesurf?

As i understand, all the jet boats dont' really produce nice wakes before planing speed. Its just sorta jetwash.....

But i don't have any experence with it!

i ride behind an ar230. it is the only thing i have ridden behind so i can't tell you that it compares to anything. looking at some of the other pictures i think i can get the wake dialed to about the same size as some of the medium inboard wakes. it is pretty easy once you figure out the technique though i haven't been able to ride out a 360 yet. i wouldn't blame that on the wake so much as my lack of coordination.

how much ballast did u add?? right now my wake is pretty small?
thankz for the feedback

also does the perfect pass work with the ar230? because of the twin engine 320 hp motor.
thankz

no ballast and no pp. we usually have 3-4 people on what ever side we are riding. like i said i don't know how the wake compares but you can surf it.

what kind of baord are u riding on???

tyboarder03 09-05-2005 8:25 PM

Do you have any pics of the wake, im really interested to see it since everyone says theres no wake to be had on these jet boats.
~Tyler~

Tyler, I am going to the lake this weekend so i will try to get a picture of the wake. Since the wake was so small i bought 1700# of ballast hoping that will do the trick.

jerbul, what board are u riding on?
