We're booking all of our summer trips and lake oroville is on the list. Has anyone ever been to the bidwell canyon campsites and if so how are they? Are there docks with slips or do you have to pull your boat out of the water every night and are there full hook-ups for R.V.'s and if so are there any close to the water. Thank's! everyones help is appreciated, it makes for great vacations.

Oroville is really nice,

Bidwell Canyon is nice, I camped there years ago, we put the boat in and out...
here is more info...
http://www.lakeoroville.net/camping.htm
I want to camp out on the floating campsites.

Rob
I have never been, but plan on going this year. I heard the lake is awsome, but the one draw back is you can't reserve a certain camp site and have to get what ever one they asign you. The floating campsites are pricey and are around $200 or more a night if I remember correctly.

floating campsites are reserved online at reserveamerica.com.

The floating camp sites are great and are only $107.00 per night. The camp service takes your garbage at the end of your stay. You put tents on the top of the platform. You do not have to put up with the dirt like you do at the other camp sites and you are away from all the crowds. The floating camp sites are fun but I would not stay on it longer then four days because you have to boat in all your supplies. Here is a picture of one of the floating camp sites.

We rode Oroville yesterday. Water still chilly but not too bad. Lime Saddle marina has campsite as well and that side of the lake is less crowded. You have to pull your boat out each day. The marina is easy. Right now they have four lanes to launch.

Neil how is the water level at Oroville right now. Some of our lakes are a little on the low side.

Pete - Lower than normal, but nothing concerning. The water level was about 20ft. down. Last year, the lake filled to capacity. There were a few logs floating and you have to be on the look out, but I have seen a lot more debris than that as well.
