This free family-friendly public event is open to anyone interested in learning to wakeboard or who just want to check out the sport and what it has to offer! Various wakeboard boats will be available to ride, and Hyperlite will be providing 2013 gear to demo!

Boat owners launching for the event: Plan to launch at the Elkhorn ramp and come up river to the New Alamar Restaurant and marina. Most attendees plan to start launching at 11:00am.

People attending w/o a boat: Park at the New Alamar Restaurant (5999 Garden Highway Sacramento, CA 95837, <1/4 mile up river from Elkhorn launch). Come down to the Hyperlite booth on the marina patio for boat and demo gear access, or to grab a bite to eat. If you would like to ride, please plan to make a gas donation of $10-15 per set to boat owners.

The New Alamar will be cooking up a BBQ style menu on the patio in addition to offering their full dining menu and full bar.

There will be free giveaways courtesy of local boat shop Superior Boat. Event T-shirts will also be available for purchase.

Ya, post pics of the boats going..... I hope we can get more than last year! I hit the river yesterday GLASS all day. water temp was 62 we all trunked it!

I'm gonna try to come by...maybe with the kids. I know my daughter would love to ride.

Here's my ride..

It's looking like we will have to postpone the WEST event. I was at the river yesterday and the water was very rideable, but the lowest I have ever seen it. I would not expect anyone to launch when the ramps/dock are crazy shallow. I had to walk my boat out at Discovery Park yesterday and Verona last week. If people are still interested in going out anyway, just let me know. Otherwise we can try later when the water is safer.
Sorry, I have been looking forward to this and have had a lot of response and interest from local riders and venues.

good news! the W.E.S.T. event is still on!

Rob told me that the water level went up 2 feet yesterday and is forecasted to keep rising through the week!

Brandon said it!!! It's ON fosho! The river is still rising and the ramp is looking good! Shasta has released water and the river will be rising all week! Hope to see all of you out there! Thank you! For wakeboarding, just factory 4 tank ballast and wedge maxed. I plumbed in a 1100lbs sack in the locker and a 370lbs sack under the port seat and run a 750lbs sack on top of the port seat, factory tanks full.

I'm planing on bringing my Malibu. Hopefully I can work on my tow vehicle and get it ready for the day as well. Otherwise I may need to bum a ride, but I'm good for gas money and cleaning. Ill keep everyone posted.

Dan I'm not much of a surfer, but I'm down! Zack either way we will see you on the water and dock for some fun!

Will there be a place for others to tie-off and watch? I have a couple friends who might not be interested in riding, or pulling, but would like to watch and hang out.

I think the restaurant has a patio/dock

the Alamar has a patio/dock with a BBQ and bar. they can always jump on a boat to watch, they will only be asked for gas $ if they ride. They won't see much actual riding from the patio due to the no wake/ 5 MPH zone. Dan did you check out our webpage? westriders.org

I did. We should have some sort of identifying placard or something for the group, so people wanting a pull know whose boat to jump on. A piece of paper taped to the inside of a windshield is what I'm thinking.

My buddy owns a print shop. I'll have him put together 20 placards and I'll bring them out in the am.
