I just wanted to ask those of you who are making a living off of photography and filming what your majors were through college and where you or if you went. My life evolves around wakeboarding and I love filming and making the videos so I just htought I'd ask a few questions before I change my major.

Though you said, "make a living off of photography and filming" (one day I hope I do)

I never went to college. Though I have been in the drafting business since my freshman year of high school and always had an interest in art/graphic design. Which is my main roll with Numbskull Productions the video production company I am a partner in. I know my partner; Ron Mart went to U of O (Oregon) but not sure what his major is/or was. Don’t think it had to do with the photography or filming industry.
Someone told me something one time, is "To do something, it starts with one thing, motivation. After motivation you create a purpose. With a purpose you can have a goal. To reach that goal you must have a plan. To follow that plan you need motivation."
or something like that..
I'm currently in school at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara...I've been here for almost two years. I've been shooting wakeboarding for about four years now, and I'm finally starting to make some money in the industry. It's a tough market, though! Nobody has deep pockets, and there's a lot of competition.

Mike, now that you're making money shouldn't you be hiring an assistant - like me for example???

Hahn, you already are my assistant... you're my "talent scout". Going to be on the lookout this coming tour season?
