I was just wondering what you would bid on it.

Thanks ahead of time.

nobody has an opinion?

oopsds92 08-08-2007 12:23 PM

$10,000 give or take a few.

I don't like the tranny seal comment and I'd definitely be asking him to turn the stringer bolts to see if they are rotten. However, If the stringers are good and it runs well.... anything under $4K is a good deal.

ironj32 08-08-2007 12:27 PM

i'd bid maybe $3500. maybe even go up to as high as $4500

shredhead 08-08-2007 12:28 PM

No way, I don't think I would go over $4000 and then only if I checked it out. If it has a soft floor, that can be a big job.

dmcguirt23 08-08-2007 12:36 PM

10 grand, Dane? I'd bid around 3,500 on it. If anyone goes over that they must really want it. Looks like a decent 25 year old boat though. Definitely check it out before you bid.

I am allways skeptical of "fresh rebuilds" as do it your selfers or shade trees often overhaul these. Then rears its ugly hea later on (ask MR. Murphy form midwest wakeboard ) also this boat even with the seal leak would bring 5k locally.

see if he will take it to an inspector prolly to late now though. I have been bidding on 2001's for a couple of months now and absoulty no sellers have been willing to take to a dealer, even if I paid for it.

bmartin 08-08-2007 1:23 PM

Sight unseen $3K.

If you can have it checked out or see it yourself and everything works as described without major rot, $4-5K.

trickyboarder08 08-08-2007 2:05 PM

Ok, so 3,500 seems like a good price if i could get it for that? Planning on calling the guy tonight!!!

oopsds92 08-08-2007 2:16 PM

ya i was jk.

charman 08-08-2007 2:20 PM

if it runs, i wouldn't like buying a rebuilt motor with 5 hours on it.

sanddragon2004 08-08-2007 4:00 PM

ask why it needs a front tranny seal?

usually when they go out, the blow oil all over the bilge and u loose forward gear! borg warner velvets like in that boat are easy to find but u can pay a pretty penny for a good one. a seal is only about 5bucks FYI. Ive replaced them in nautiques, it requires pulling either the motor or the trans. easy to change once out and u can inspect the front pump while its out. sounds like a boat thats been abused though. id offer 3500. - 4grand. always always always offer less then asking price worst they can say is no.
