Editing 1080/50p

Hey guys,
Just bought a new camera (Panasonic HDC SD700) which records at 1080/50p (PAL) and am wondering what I should use to edit it.
I am using a mac and imovie doesnt support it... Im am thinking of going for final cut pro would this be alright? any other options?
I want to record at 50p and then slow it down to 25p for some slow mo's, how would I do this?

Cheers for any help...

These should give you all the info you will need:

Although these threads are for the US version (TM700), there should still be some good info there. There are plenty of other threads as well on the same site.

final cut pro is the ideal thing to get but final cut express will support it as well. final cut express has almost all the same functions and cool things pro has except it is wayyy cheaper. they are very good programs. i reccomend them both over premier
