New Short Axis A22 Vid

Saw this today, and I thougth I'd post it up. This video does a killer job of showing how scalable the A22 wake is. Can't wait for my 3 year old to start ripping behind mine.

Yeah. The wake with pnp and wedge, is so nice. I can't wait to shred tomorrow!

05sante 08-05-2011 11:55 AM

Nice video! I was in Loudon earlier this week and was thinking about Axis. If I knew where their factory is I probably would've stopped by to check them out.

tampawake 08-05-2011 12:00 PM

The beautiful people the beautiful people. Nice video and that 6 year old shreds better than I do. I need to shorten my rope to about 50ft!

ktrent 08-05-2011 1:47 PM

that is a sick video. getting older now with 2 little girls 2 and 4 that video really hits home at how i hope my family can continue to spend time together on the water. that all black is super clean and the wake is to die for. malibu/axis has really got the wake dialed. hope the new malibu 22 wake is just as nice.

petrey10 08-05-2011 2:38 PM

i love that boat....

jayson_49 08-05-2011 3:04 PM

very clean boat and nice riding by all ages! they must not have read the "boardshorts vs bikini bottoms" on the girls who ride section....:)

jdhart73 08-06-2011 7:41 AM

That is a great video!

jbird 08-06-2011 7:57 AM

^^That^^

brycejb328 08-06-2011 8:46 AM

Axis = winning

the blk/red one in the classifieds... looks so $$ sitting in the water

aarond0083 08-06-2011 9:08 AM

Coming from a Nautique guy, that is a sweet looking boat and extremely well made video. Not sure what I liked better, the family aspect or the choice in song. 'Sympathy For The Devil' is a great tune.

diamonddad 08-06-2011 10:05 AM

That is a very well done video. Anyone know what lake that was filmed at?

tommyg 08-06-2011 7:55 PM

gotta say, this is definitely the best wakeboarding vid i've seen in a long time. Just really captures what it's all about, especially for us family guys. Hats off to Axis, from another long time Nauty guy.

Although a little frustrating to realize that there are pre-teen girls that are better than me at wakeboarding ;)

Cipher 08-06-2011 8:10 PM

That rocked.

My 13yo boy had a great day today working on different grabs.

I showed him this vid to bring him back down to Earth.

That lake and community looked pretty amazing, even if it's in Tennessee.

From a marketing point of view that is a super smart video, its not often you see a video of EXACTLY how most family's use there boats and the craft excels at all levels of wake production

ralph 08-06-2011 8:49 PM

By not often I mean never......

Have to say the surf wake looked less than good.

jdhart73 08-06-2011 11:39 PM

Surf wake looks mediocre at best. Nice for wakeboard though, they should go old school and show an old lady slaloming, thats all we missed there!
Axis definitely is winning in the marketing department, whoever they pay to put together promo's should get a raise!

you_da_man 08-07-2011 8:08 PM

If Axis really wanted to step up the A20 and A22 as a great family boat, they need to design a better platform or have an optional surf platform. The surf wake is pretty good and doesn't need much weight really BUT the square shaped platform totally destroys it. I have taken off the platform and loaded the back goofy side corner down (not even close to the rubrail either) and had a totally clean surf wake with a medium length pocket up to mid-thigh and my hip (I'm 6'00").

chattwake 08-08-2011 5:59 AM

A.J. That's a great idea....

chattwake 08-08-2011 8:21 AM

Since it's been released.... Axis redesigned the platforms on the 2012 A22 and A20. The new platforms are designed to shape the surf wave. It is my understanding that, with these new platforms, there is no wash at all. I've got one waiting for me at my local dealership. I'll take some pictures when I go get it this week.

bruizza 08-08-2011 6:06 PM

That was an awesome video! I have stated about a million times how much I love our Axis. 230+ hours on it now and I have enjoyed every single second of it.

Can you PM me the cost or post it up for the platform

chattwake 08-09-2011 6:04 AM

A.J. I'm not sure a cost has been determined yet for just the platform. Trust me, I've got several friends here locally who are anxiously waiting to order one.

Cool, keep us updated with pics of the platform, weight setup, and results. FYI - when I took off my platform I tried a couple weight configurations. I have the 750 rear sac so I filled factory tank, 750 rear sac, 400lb sac on top of rear sac (only could fill about half), 400 sac on surfside seat, bow sac full, and 400 sac in the bow. Did this setup with wedge down and up. Down the wake was a solid 3' tall at my hip. We could surf about 15' back no problem but the wake was pretty steep. No wedge with same setup wake was longer and a little smaller.

I really love this boat. This is coming from a guy who has owned 5 nautiques and is now in an xstar. If I could have a redo I would go this route. The wake on the star is good when it's slammed, but this looks just as good from what I can see, and it's half the price. Great job axis

superair502 08-18-2011 9:54 PM

Hey chatt finally got a pull on a 22 today and it was pretty decent for only factory ballast and wedge. There were also 5 people in the boat. I know the boat need plug and play to get to the size I am used to but how much lip does it add to the wake. It was decent sized but no punch. Kinda like a factory weighted x star. It looked like it would get nice with weight tho. Boat held really solid when cutting hard too
