Hey guys, what's the deal with Collin Wright Boards? Have any of you ridden one. I should say ridden "it" because it looks like their is only one model out right now.
it looks like a good board

r_dub 07-22-2004 11:31 AM

Haha, you know I just got done looking at that picture when I first made my post, and I didnt notice that.
Hey also, you think he thought all the good board names were taken, so he just named it after himself, lol.
Im just kidding though, I have never ridden one, and I was just curious how they ride. Im all about riders starting their own company.

We should start a new thread.
"Help Collin come up with a better name"

Here's a few suggestions.
Wright vs. Wrong Boards
Wright Stuff Boards
Wright Away Boards
or what about "Oh yeah, Wright There" boards
Ok, enough jokes on the name. For real, has anyone ridden one?

aaronlee13 07-22-2004 1:25 PM

or has anyone rode the new waketech boards?

wazzy 07-22-2004 1:36 PM

Rode the Collin Wright and loved it. Although I am a fan of 3 stage rocker over continous. Maybe his second model will be 3 stage.

Rode the WakeTech "new" Flight 69 about 1 year ago. Pretty good board, but was looking to try out the battail.

I "spoke" with him about his boards last year. This is what he had to say about it (compared to his old DU pro model):
"...that is sweet that you have the candy land board. I am 5 foot 11 and
165 i love the 142. Pete Ward is a rider of mine that is actually only 5 foot
8 and 135 and he loves it too. this board has more rocker then the board you
have now. actually about 3/4 inch more rocker. that means way more pop off
the wake for you. a three stage board is nice when you hit the wake but the
landings are much sticker. I mean when you land the board grabs more of a hold
to the water putting you over the front of the board. my continous rocker
will provide a much more consistent pop off the wake and more stable landings...
...i am only making 100 boards, they come incraved with
the number of that board in the top of the deck, 2 of 100 etc. the main way
to get them is direct through my website, collinwrightboards.com a couple of
shops will have them boat they will actually be more then on the site. I
don't really have a shop program right now. there are some boards left, we just
started shipping this week...."

electricsnow 07-22-2004 8:36 PM

Why is collin lame, when gator named his company "gator boards?" Or O'brien, connelly...

r_dub 07-23-2004 5:23 AM

Dude, its a joke! And no way did I imply that Collin is lame. That dude rips.
But I think it would have been lame if they named their companies Erik Lutgert boards and Herb O'brien boards also.
Just saying he didnt put much thought into the name. But obviuosly Im still interested enough in his boards to start this post.
