How to make good wakeboard videos
 

I'm looking for ideas for how to make good wakeboarding videos. This is especially difficult for those of us who are shooting bad wakeboarders as our videos have to be interesting due to the emotions we catch on video and how we put them together as there are no super cool tricks to steal the show.

So what are your ideas? What are some of the cool techniques you've seen? I'm really interested in hearing hearing some good ideas or seeing examples where you think somebody did a good job selecting scenes or putting clips together to make a fun or meaningful video.

I make a LOT of videos so my advise is make it for the people most likely to watch it- the riders and their friends! Pick music that you think suits the riders but is generally watchable by a wider audience ( think that their grandma will watch it so maybe go easy on the swearing) Polish your edits- this means get rid of anything extra you don't need. My rule is unless it is really interesting, no shot goes for more than 5 seconds. Edit to the beat of the music- this means either an action or cut happens on the beat. Finally don't be afraid to make a little intro, but don't fall into the trap of making a 2 min lifestyle intro. Most people tune out after 30 seconds and I still see even some of the more popular video makers make this mistake. Hope this helps!

I would say this video did it right. Keep it faster pace, switch viewing angles, not a whole lot of shots of the cut out and back to the wake.
