TN> lakes info.

Next week heading up to TN. for about 10 days. Memphis area first then hitting Lake Watauga on the way back. This is up North by Boon and the NC. border. Does anyone have any info on lake temps and general condition of Watauga? My buddy has a cabin on the lake with a Master Craft X something or other docked right out the door. Just trying to figure if I should bring a shorty and / or my own board. Space is a premium in the soccer mom sled.
Thanks.

Naw man.Def no shorty. I've been out on that lake in September and it was fine. Maybe someone who's been recently or lives around it can chime in with current consitions, but you should be fine right now. It's a really nice lake set up around the mountains. Conditions are usually good. It's got a lot of nooks and coves, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding good water.

We ride boone lake normally. Its more in the tri cities area. Lake temps at boone are 78-80 right now. I would estimate Watuga is around 73 or so. We have had alot of rain lately and cooler temps. I would think you should be fine with trunkin it. As far as conditions, coves are it, main channel is rough as storms and all the wind runs through the middle. Have fun
