2010 X-15 Tower question

I have a 2010 X-15 with the ZFT3 tower and noticed when it's windy with some decent chop the tower squeaks. I inspected all of the bolts and all were tight except for the rear mounts. I did a search and came up with mixed answers on how tight these bolts should be. I don't want to crank them so tight that I risk cracking the gel but they seem that they should be tighter than they are. Thanks in advance.

I can double check with the Techs tomorrow but I believe its 50 foot pounds. But to be sure what exactly do you mean by rear mounts?

The rear "feet" I guess that bolt through the deck.

I am with you. I was close with what I thought off the top of my head. The MC Schematics are saying that it should be the three bolts at 30 LB/FT. If you dont have the tools to measure that. Its a generally tight feel, but nothing that you are having the get your back into it on.
Hope this helps. If you need any other help or more info on what the rest of the tower should spec out to shoot me an email and I can see what I can find for you.

Thanks for the response John. I'm out of town until next week but I'll tighten it up when I get back. I'm gonna keep your email handy if you don't mind in case I need to do some more troubleshooting with the tower. From your experience do the ZFT3 usually squeak in rough water? It doesn't do it when it's under load with a rider just when cruising on a rough windy day.

I have seen some with some rattle but it really should be rock solid. What do you have on your tower for speakers and light bars? Do you have the brace arms that connect the upper hoop arm and the rear legs? I dont know why you wouldn't but some boats come from the MC factory without the installed and it is then your dealer that should be installing it. If you want more of the skematic info on the tower build and components shoot me an email and I can scan them in for you.

I have 4 mc speakers on the tower; 2 have the lights built in. The support arms are there as well. I spoke to another guy who's tower rattled and he said that he adjusted the nut on the support arm and it went away. I guess you would have to loosen it to adjust it because they are snugged up tight. If it comes to it it should be covered under warranty I would think.
