KGB HELP: Missing the handle

Helloooo... I was trying some KGBs the other day and I am spinning the full backroll backside 360, but I am missing the handle early....

What kind of edge do you take for the KGB?
Do you pass off the wake or wait a second?
How do I get the damn handle in my hand???

THANK YOU THANK YOU

Can you consistently land handle pass roll to blinds?

If not I would suggest learning those first as the mechanics are largely the same and will teach you to pass the handle without worrying about completing the full 360.

You start the handle pass early but you wont get the handle till about halfway though the roll, should be right at the peak

Also for KGB's its easier (I find) its easier to do the backrolls mexian style.

Once you have the R2B down pat and at a decent height you can attempt the KGB, its the same motion exception as you pop off the wake you'll need to turn your head in the direction of the spin which will in turn move your shoulders and body in the right rotation.

In regards to passing the handle you have to be patient, pull strong as you pop off the wake and really concentrate on committing to the handle pass, like I said you wont get it until the peak. Also it goes without saying u want a more poppy vertical backroll as opposed to one going way out into the flats.

Yeah I can do roll to blind but I land blind... when I attempt the KGB I try to pass early and I feel like its really far away the whole time?

The key is taking a shorter approach coming into the wake. I would start no more than 10 feet out or less, and edge in a little backfoot heavy. When you pop push the handle down hard into the small of your back and pass it as soon as you can. It is also to really push the handle down with both hands and very quickly reach around and pass it. The rest you seem to have fine. Hope this helps, if you can get a video too see what you are doing wrong that would be even better. Learning them off the double up also helps because of the extra slack.

Hey guys, I hope you don't take this as a hijack, but I could use some pointers too. The difference is that I'm trying it on a kneeboard, which has never been done before. Thus, the reason I need to ask wakeboarders for tips.

This is my closest attempt. I landed it, but with only two fingers on the handle and couldn't hang onto the pull. I know I need to approach the wake more agressively, but the handle gets harder to pass, the more agressive I get. Any pointers would be appreciated.
