Would it be dangerous to wakeboard tomorrow? its going to be 40+ and sunny and I'm guessin water temp will be near 40 (hopefully). I'm gonna wear a wetsuit and everythign and just take a short set I was just making sure I won't die. I wanna do it just to say I did it.

parksboarder 12-18-2006 1:01 PM

nope, I'm From Grand Rapids and went winching last Saturday 12/16/06 at my lake and I'm still here. Of course I started off land and fell 10 feet from shore. I used a drysuit and some closed toe Ronix Cell boots and it did the trick. I did however run quickly to a near by hot shower.

(Message edited by parksboarder on December 18, 2006)

Hey from K'zoo. Beautiful day today. I was thinking about putting the snowmobile in storage and getting the boat out. Go dry suit if you can. That cold water starts to seep into the wetsuit really fast! If it stays like this we should be thinking about a XMAS day ride!

jovedawake 12-18-2006 2:09 PM

I'm from MI and I say go for it!!!

paulw 12-18-2006 2:12 PM

I know that I am a boarding nut, and live in IL, but you guys are crazy.

thedocta 12-18-2006 2:31 PM

well wetsuits not really an option and the only boat I could find thats not winterized is my neighbors jetboat so I was thinking maybe a little kayak slider for the day. anyone is welcome if anyone can take the cold hah.

thedocta 12-18-2006 2:32 PM

oh yeah and if anyone around kzoo here wants to plan a XMAS day ride you can count me in.

mjmurphy53711 12-18-2006 3:14 PM

Ill say this much, if you do go out take pics and those of us at www.midwestwakeboarder.com will happily run a feature on your crazy selfs.

rwb 12-18-2006 3:32 PM

40 degree water and a wet suit . . . burrr! Dry suit.

thedocta 12-18-2006 6:16 PM

ya well wetsuits all I got...im still in for an XMAS day ride if anyoen else is.

wakeslife 12-18-2006 6:57 PM

Greg go for it man! Here in MI I can't stand looking out the window to the lake and seeing the super still butter and knowing its in the 40's/50's and sunny, and the boat being put away up north for the season. Heck in the middle of summer we hit the lake at 6:30 in the morning and the air isn't more than 55 degrees.

jovedawake 12-18-2006 6:59 PM

I'm in for a Christmas ride.

I'll be home then...find a boat and give me a time, place, and date...and I'll bring gas money.

thedocta 12-18-2006 8:08 PM

anyone have a boat not yet winterized?

themann39 12-18-2006 8:29 PM

Its ok to go when the water and air is in the 40's. Well it might not be ok but me and a few friends did it in april the last 2 years when it wasnt any warmer then that.

a1flowergirl 12-19-2006 2:51 AM

I'll be in MI Christmas Day -- if anyone is up for a set, I'd love to join you!

brianm9604 12-19-2006 6:22 AM

I'm in! I did see a Malibu with wakeboards on the racks in someone's driveway on Duncan Lake (Nofke Drive) this weekend. Let me know if there's a boat available. I'll bring gas money as well!!

boarditup 12-19-2006 8:11 AM

I'll be boarding on Jan 1, 2007 at 1200. First set of the year.

xsmini 12-19-2006 2:53 PM

That is John on Duncan, I guarantee he and his daughter will go for a set

If I was in town on X-mas I would Gladly get the boat summerized to do it.

Sorry,

Maybe after the new year

mjmurphy53711 12-19-2006 3:47 PM

I reccomend Jen as a third, cool chick.

Jen, your on assignment for pics if you go!

a1flowergirl 12-19-2006 4:19 PM

Mike -- thanks for the recommendation ;) I'm determined to get in another set this year. And I will definitely get pics if I go.

thedocta 12-19-2006 7:00 PM

id anyone gets in touch with john tell him hes got a crew of riders if they hit the lake christmas day. ya today fell through because my neighbors rents didnt want to take the boat out of storage for one day...lazy b@astrds.

mim3 12-19-2006 8:45 PM

Where do you all ride? I spent the last half of the summer on Gun.

(Message edited by mim3 on December 19, 2006)

brianm9604 12-20-2006 10:28 AM

So where are we on this??

I see our options as:
1) drive to Boston and ride with Jaysus
2) Find John on Duncan lake and ride with him.

Does anyone know John?

xsmini 12-20-2006 10:40 AM

If anyone is willing to wait until right after the new year, I'll take up to 10 people out
(Kalamazoo)
(Provided there's water)

a1flowergirl 12-20-2006 12:49 PM

I'm definitely interested in X-mas day if it happens. I would also be interested in right after the new year -- if everything's not frozen over and if I can swing it with my work schedule.

Unfortunately, I would not be able to drive to Boston. Although, if I didn't have to work the day before and after Christmas, I would definitely make the drive!

balr54 12-20-2006 5:19 PM

Ok, how many people are actually interested in this?

thedocta 12-20-2006 6:11 PM

its looking like 5-6 interested...are john and his daughter sponsored by the edge? if they are i might be able to get in touch with them. anyone know of a lake not yet frozen?

mim3 12-20-2006 6:14 PM

Where is Boston?

xsmini 12-21-2006 7:39 AM

Okay, I got the guys at The Edge to set up a day.

January 7, a Sunday. If Sugarloaf Lake isn't frozen.

They have a VLX to take out, so 10 People or so.

Get in touch with Zach zacht@edgeski.com to sign up, It's free

brianm9604 12-21-2006 8:43 AM

I've secured my spot.

Looking forward to it.

a1flowergirl 12-21-2006 9:49 AM
