Fort Dodge IA

Getting sent to Fort Dodge IA for a month starting Monday - Is there anybody around there, or anything to do?

there are a few people around ft. dodge, the university of northern iowa is like an hour away and that is where i go to school. There is a lake in ft. dodge but it is probably frozen over and the weather hasnt broke 60 yet so no one is wakeboarding yet.

I was born and raised there. Twin Lakes is about 30 min west of there. Other than that you are pretty limited on places to ride. My grandparents still have a cabin on the lake and I am planning to get back there this summer for a long weekend. My crew was/still is seen around there in a white Maristar with a loud stereo and a beer bong hanging from the black tower most of the time. We have fun. If you are out there just pull them over, tell them you are new and want to party/ride. They will take you in. Also there is a tournament on the lake every year in late July/early August. Fun fun fun.

O and other then the lake there really isnt much going on in that town anymore. Typical small town bars and stuff, nothing exciting. Good people though.

Yeah, I'm still rehabing my shoulder surgery, so I couldn't ride even if the water wasn't frozen, just seeing what was going on and if there was anybody I can take pictures for. Can't hold the rope, but can hold my camera just fine!
