My wife is a real estate agent and I wanted to buy a really cheap wide angle lens that will help her take pictures of the insides of houses. She is having trouble standing in a corner and getting an entire room with the lenses I have.

Can anyone recommend a very cheap, wide angle lens? I have yet to learn as much as I would like to have by now, so any help is greatly appreciated. Would a 17-35mm be good?

I like the 10-22 from canon

oops, forgot to put that. its a digital canon rebel eos. the 10-22 from canon is $600-800. that's a bit more than i was looking to spend. I really don't see myself using this lens very often, so that's why i was trying to keep it as cheap as possible.

(Message edited by mossy44 on November 19, 2009)

One sale of a house because of a good photo and it paid for itself....

Hi Matt, I picked up a like new condition Tamron 17-50 2.8 off the Fred Miranda buy/sell forum for $350. Sweet lens, I love it, very sharp. How is the 55-250 working out for you?

http://www.fredmiranda.com/

I have a Tokina 12-24 F4. Takes great pictures. Focus is not as nice and quick as Canon L lens, but it only cost around $400 compared to the $700 canon.

Don't forget the CROP-FACTOR.. what's the rebel at these days? 1.6? That means a 20mm will actually be a 32mm.

kung fu - can you help an idiot understand what you mean?

You could always go the cheap $30 to $50 route and buy a lense adaptor off of ebay. From what i've heard the quality of the shots is just a little bit less. If i remember right Brinks posted a photo of one he used in a different thread somewhere on here.
