I drove down to Redding yesterday and we stopped off at bridge bay. I have never seen the water so low. I thought with all the rain and snow we have had so far the lake would be atleast 20-30 feet higer? On a side note, it was like 60 degrees and absolutely beauiful out.

Well, as far as snow goes, the snow pack doesnt melt off until summer. I don't know exactly how shasta is fed, but I am assuming it will take a little bit to fill up, if it does at all.

Lake Shasat is closed.

With near-record snow in a lot of places they are probably drawing the resevoir down even farther than usual in anticipation of all the runoff.
|
B fitz, exactly, lake oroville is the same way, just wait for the snow to melt, shasta has a crapload of snow
|
Wow I am blown away by my typos. Sorry for not paying closer attention Lake Shasat is closed lol

hmmmm that sucks cant get the pics to work but we were out on the lake today and it was great. Its come up 30' in the last couple of months and is at 90' from the crest. Like mentioned it will start to really fill from the snow melt and we have had a real good year up here so far.
