Drove 300 miles through the rain, fog, and wind to pick up my new boat last night. 2002 X-star, triple KGB, wakeboard pro, depth gauge, tower/racks, bimini top, cover, x-tra prop, 310 HP engine, 315 hours, great condition. I think it needs a new steering cable and an impeller in one of the ballast pumps. Little concerned because it's suppose to be in the teens in the next couple days. It is in my garage with a trouble light in the engine compartment. Here's a photo:

nice ride Bob, looks like it's time to update your profile! Have fun when it warms up.

cdl 04-04-2007 7:42 AM

nice

mendo247 04-04-2007 7:43 AM

wow! nice boat.. i always loved that color combo on that hull.. your boat should be fine in your garage, even if the temps drop down to the teens at night(espically with that light in there)..

chaser 04-04-2007 7:57 AM

Bill, profile updated. Thanks. Will get a better photo when it warms up.

riverrunner 04-04-2007 7:57 AM

You are going to have a great time when it warms up...2nd the drop light in the engine box...you will be fine.

Congratulations! That is a great looking X-Star! That trailer looks brand new too.

chaser 04-04-2007 10:28 AM

The previous owner figures the trailer probably has less than a 1000 miles on it as he had the boat in a covered lift. Speaking of trailers though...it doesn't have a spare tire. Any estimates on what a spare from Mastercraft would cost? Any good/cheaper alternatives than getting one from MC?

guido 04-04-2007 10:42 AM

Nice ride... You're gonna love it. I'd figure on around $400 for a MC spare. You can get a cheaper steel wheel almost anywhere that'd work. Just make sure the bolt pattern and offset are the same. One of my buddies used the spare off his Malibu on his MC trailer without any problems.

Congrats on the boat . . . looks sweet. I recommend replacing your reg. numbers with Domed Numbers, and relocate them below the rub rail. I did that on my boat, and it was a huge improvement.

Congrats again.

Nice ride Bob! I've ridden behind my friends '02 for two years now, and enjoyed the hell out of it. I'm sure you will, too. I'm in the same boat as you, I pick up my boat on the 16th, and the windchills in Chitown are in the mid teens right now.

Great boat have lots of fun with it!

malibuboarder75 04-05-2007 5:41 AM

A spare tire from Boatmates Trailers was $185. It was the same tire for the Supras and Malibu Trailers.

chaser 04-05-2007 6:20 AM

Barret, I like your idea about the numbers. I think in WI it is illegal to put the numbers below the rub rail though? Correct me if I'm wrong. Either way, I do need to replace the numbers because they do look bad and actually a few letters are missing. Where can I get the domed numbers.? Chris, our temps are in the teens here with 30 mph gusts! Glad my boat fit in the garage! I monitoring the temps in the engine box, hasn't dropped below 36 in there yet with the light in there.

rwb 04-05-2007 9:58 AM

Bob, check with your D.O.L. regarding the reg. location. You can get the domed numbers at www.domednumbers.com. However, if you are committed to having the number at the current location, you may want to double check that the domed numbers will work on the curved surface. The numbers I got were pretty stiff.

Good luck, and enjoy the ride.

talltigeguy 04-05-2007 11:57 AM

A friend of mine is looking for a boat that I suspect would cost about what you paid. That would be perfect. Looks like a great machine!

Do you mind telling what you paid? PM me if you prefer to be quiet about it.

24_ssv 04-05-2007 12:10 PM

Bob, I had a boat titled in WI and I thought the numbers were below the rail. Check the WDNR website.

chaser 04-05-2007 12:16 PM

You are right. I just checked the rule book and it said nothing about above the rub rail. Just clearly visible. I know someone told me once they had to be above the rub rail, guess you can't believe everything you hear....unless of course it's on this forum.

chaser 04-05-2007 1:01 PM

talltigeguy,
32K. It also has hot/cold shower on transom and transom remote. Seemed like a good price compared to other 02 X-stars I was looking at. And this one was only 150 miles away.

point1234 04-05-2007 8:27 PM

Hey Bob I live in wisconsin and my dealer put the reg numbers on my boat and they are below the rubrail. Never had a problem all last summer and that is even on the Madison lakes.

fill_er_up 04-06-2007 5:40 AM

Very nice, looks like it just rolled out of the factory!

wakesetter101 04-06-2007 6:53 AM

Nice boat. Very clean.

duckguy 04-06-2007 7:11 AM

tyler97217 04-06-2007 7:26 AM
