Board sizing help please
 

I am new and just got an old cheap board $60 and it is 136cm I am 195 lbs. I am having a blast on it but do not feel as though I am traveling smoothly over the water. I am ready to upgrade after 2 months of riding and the sizing charts are all different. I am thinking a 138 will still be to small but how would a 143 be would it be to big. Any insight would be awesome. Thanks

I was 198lbs last year (6'2") rIiding a 141. Ive ridden a 143 and a 136 and so far 141 is the best for me. I am now 175lbs (I've been running alot..lol) and the 141 is still getting the job done, feels great. I think the quality of the board is probably holding you back more than the size, when I started I had a sh** board and was amazed at how much better a nice board rides. My suggestion would be go for something between 138 and 143 and you should be good to go. Alot of websites are selling the 2011 boards for 25% or more off right now, or see if you can score a leftover 2010 if your on a budget.

I weigh 175 and I ride a 142. For you I would jump up to at least a 142.

5'-8" and 155lbs. I'll ride either a 134 Motive or a 140 Motive (i have both) behind the boat. I stick to the 134 on the cable.

Local board shop will give me a sweet deal on a Hyperlite Forfront 139. Any thoughts on that board? thanks again

Also looking at a liquid force omega 139 any thoughts on that as well

How tall are you? I'd personally go bigger than a 139

You'll probably be fine with the 139, it won't be too small. I can ride a few smaller boards fine, I'm just more comfortable on a bigger board.
