Last March I had to cancel a flight to Vegas that was non-refundable because I booked online. I was told that I could get a flight credit and I was emailed a 16 digit # and told that I had to use the credit inside of a year. I'm ready to do that but can't get through the automated system to talk to a human being to explain my situation and nothing on the website applies to me. Does anyone have experience with this? The only thing I have is a 16 digit #.

that is the case, you always have a year to use your credit. You cannot call the res center and speak with a person about making a res?
|
You have one year to use the credit, as they stated.

Call (800) 756-1000 and go through the prompts for a reservation and to speak to a live agent.

Maybe I'll just need to call later and try to wade my way through and talk to a human...

I "earned" a credit from United after winning at Customer Service Roulette. You probably have to take that credit to a live person at the airport like I did in order to use it for booking.

This may help you get to someone. I didn't look to see if United was on there.

http://gethuman.com/

they are on there, use the search at the top of the page

Once you get on the phone just keep pressing 0 and it will get you to a live person
