Our nation needs this debate!

Pretty good article... |
^You do know she is speaking about the UK when she says "our nation", right?
|
Trucker nuts found another conservative news source. Do not vote for Romney he will get us in another HUGE war.
|
He's a master debater and a cunning linguist.
|
I love how the dems bring up the republicans and war conversation. Under Obama's "conflict", there have been more deaths than there were under Bush. I'm not arguing for Bush, but the media and Obama supporters tend to sweep these stats under the rug....
|
I will always argue for the 2nd amendment
I will argue for a strong middle class I will support whatever is best for America! I will seek the truth, and not take someones words out of context I believe in the separation of church and the State Call me a democrat, hell, call me a liberal, but I am an American! |

On another note has anyone looked at the debt? I saw this interesting post on Redstate.com, what do you all think? |

Has anyone read the Government Accountability Office Report on the Fed? Old news, I know, but I just read it this weekend. With the Fed giving out $16,000,000,000,000.00 in bailouts I think we are done for. The budget can't be balanced and the Fed keeps on printing money. European Socialism has failed, even here in the US, no one will be able to pay for the entitlements that everyone wants... let alone any other government program or operation.
If you watch the video in my previous post I really think we are screwed... |

It's a valid option for someone so clearly unhappy with their current situation. China has no deficit and no social safety net. Sounds like your utopia.

I would put my life on him being a spoiled, rich kid who grew up and used Daddy's money to become an *******.. He'll gladly tell you about all of his degrees, certs and endeavors (he brags about them here incessantly).. But what he doesn't say is that his Daddy is loaded and took care of him and made him into the gigantic prick he is today.. Sadly, I agree with most of what he is.. His delivery is some of the most condescending asshattery I've seen. And that is saying a lot.. A real piece of **** if you ask me.. |
Wow. Whats up with all the personal attacks. IF you guys don't like him just stay out of his threads.

He is the king of personal attacks.. Differing opinion? Let me be a condescending jerk and tell you how your opinion is wrong.
You want the bull? You'll get the horns.. I'm done. 30 seconds is too much time on this cat. |
Interesting article. I think what Romney/Ryan miss is that we need to look at all expenses, not just social. Romney's pleas for an even larger military are going to do nothing for cutting down the debt. The only person with any sense was Ron Paul. I personally think we are screwed dem or rep this election. 4 more years of bush or 8 more years of bush. Either way, it is big spending, liberty defeating leadership.
I'm not sure what to do at this point. I donated to Ron Paul, talked with people about the ideas of liberty and the real threat of the debt, but most people won't listen. They won't even argue. They just want to do what they've done in the past. They're numb out there and I think that is the biggest problem. Hopefully as a nation, we can wake up through thought and not violent revolution. |

Jeremy,
Tell me how your economics math adds up? Every point you bring is someone else did this. How does the math add up? For a math major, you have zero clue. Have fun voting for people who ship your jobs out of the country. Remember, share the wealth.... |
J D is one of those Bush let 911 happen on purpose types. Or is it Let it happen on purpose types? or was it steal the elections? Or hates black people because Bush let the black people die in the hurricane people? Nothing like hearing crap for years. Can't take it now?

All of the candidates suck.. Put Ron Paul and Paul Ryan on a ticket together and I'm excited. ;-) |
Quote:
Thanks again for the kind words, my Dad says hi. Why would Ron Paul and Paul Ryan on the same ticket excite you? and why would they ever run on the same ticket? Aren't they the antithesis of each other? One has voted for numerous tax increases, tarp, the patriot act, and bailouts galore and the other has never voted for a tax increase and is one of the strongest advocates against the patriot act. I guess a similar ticket would have Barry Goldwater and Nelson Rockefeller or Obama and Clinton, I'm not sure you could find two more diametrically Opposed candidates. Ron Paul has been warning us for decades atop out the topic of this very thread, the economy is being driven off a cliff! But Paul Ryan is driving the truck. |

In order for the world to be dependent on the US dollar you can't get too draconian on controlling money going out of the country. I just wouldn't choose as a leader someone who took advantage of that in order to amass their riches to the extent it appears Romney has. |
you don't think members of the democratic party "take advantage" of thge tax code. give me a break. Why don't you guys compare the percentage of charitable donations that all of these guys donate. It doesn't make the dems look like they really care about people like they say they do.....

isn't Biden the #2 guy? The guy that would be in charge if anything were to happen to the #1 guy? Why don't you hold the people who make the tax laws, to the same standard. Heck, why not hold them to a higher standard when it comes to tax and where they park their money?
|
When a guy has $100M in his IRA, makes $20M a year, wants to be President, and indicates that taxes should be low on people like him, I take notice.

the point is, that if you combine his charitable contributions with his taxes paid, he far exceeds 15%. I guess I am confused as to why you fault a guy that uses the tax code the way that it is written, and not be upset with those that wrote it, or could change it. It makes no sense to me. But, we hardly ever agree on politics....

current tax rates and villainizing someone for following current tax codes are 2 different things
I have said all along that I am not opposed to a tax hike. But, 2 things: 1) it's a hike for everyone. The days of getting back more than you pay in, and of some not paying any income tax, need to end 2) the spending needs to be held in check with a balanced budget Obama will not support either notion. We know all to well that he will keep spending until he is no longer in power. Therefore, my new tax rate would not go towards reducing the deficit, it would just go toward creating a new government program. Would Romney do the same? That remains to be seen. But, we already know what Obama will do......and it won't bode well for our debt problems |
Cliff, This is about the person I vote for as President. WRT people who write laws, I only vote for about 2% of them. And if you count the ones who won the election even 2% is too high. Not sure why you feel the need to keep saying... "Look over here at the people not running for President". I'm interested in the philosophical underpinning of the one running. And I don't think Romney is aligned with my beliefs regarding tax policy. Simple as that. I couldn't care less if who feels that if you comply with the law that's enough. If that's your argument then fine, it's your vote to do with as you please.

"current tax rates and villainizing someone for following current tax codes are 2 different things"
Okay, but what did Romney do with the savings he received for "following the tax codes"? He received the Bush tax cuts, last signed by Obama, and according to first Bush, now Romney and the GOP, these lower tax rates are supposed to create new jobs by lowering the tax burden on the "job creators". But I am going to go out on a limb and say the only job Romney created with his savings is the guy in charge of his account in the Cayman Islands. I mean if you are simply saying you want the tax savings to have more money at the end of the day, that's fine with me, but just be honest about the whole thing. To hold the whole job creation thing over the head of the American people is just being untruthful or an attempt to twist the truth. Cliff, you obviously have issue with the many of the poor not paying their "fair share", but I am amazed that you don't take issue with many of the ultra-wealthy not paying their "fair share". Tax hikes for everyone are inevitable, regardless of which party you choose. |
To be perfectly honest, I actually have issues with how the government as a whole runs. That is one reason that I favor Romney over Obama (might be flawed logic I know...). I think that it's time we see how a business man runs the country. If the experiment works, great, perhaps it will attract more business minded people to run in the future. If it doesn't work, then 1 and done and lets move on.
You know how I feel about Obama. He will spend spend spend, and not keep very many promises. I say we move on and send a message to Washington. Politics as usually isn't what we need. I know, I know....the GOP is pretty bad at politics as usual. Obama's bully tactics might just be worse than politics as usual. I'm not real excited either way. I've mellow a ton about this election, mainly because of the sometimes irrational posts/view points of many people from both sides (I'm referring also to posts from other sites and many many comments from radio and tv). I'm ready for this thing to be over and then lets muddle through from there. If tax laws stay the same, but the rates are changed, people will just shuffle things around so that their adjusted income falls where they need it to. All of the talk about tax rates is kinda misleading the average joe... |
no rain in Charlotte......, Obama' s own delegates upset with him at the convention, regular Joe supporters shut out of convention, bad jobs report numbers.......
perhaps the writting is on the wall..... http://theweek.com/bullpen/column/23...-reagan-metric http://money.cnn.com/2012/09/07/news...ort/index.html |
I listened to his speach last night. Don't worry. Washington is going to fix everything if he is reelected.
