SPREAD THE BUTTER: New Go-Pro Edit

Check this video out my friend made during a day SHREDDING at Smith Mountain. We messed around with a Go-Pro on a stick and ended up getting some steezy style footage. Btw, it was my second time riding on that lake and the conditions were soooooooo nice! SML rocks! This edit is a series of edits presented by dominion wake online wake magazine which I checked out last night and looks sick, give it a stare.....

Nice video and great riding too. I have a couple of questions about you Gopro setup. I have a friend who got one for Christmas and we were going to do a tube shoot as well. My questions were about the length of the tube in relation to the rider. We typically ride at 70', so how long should we set the tube at? Also, did you have a viewfinder for the camera, and how were you holding it? We were thinking about a helmet mount since he does not have the viewfinder for his yet and the would seem to be the easiest way we could think of to track the rider....

Thanks for the help

I put it on a 4 foot dowel rod using the bike mount. Then I hold that out and basically just try to keep it pointed at the rider as much as I can, no viewfinder used. Having it on a pole makes it easier to get the shots real close to the rider (none here but they are in some of the other gopro vids I've made). I usually try to stay within 5 feet of the rider, but this time I didn't have extra line to attach to the tube line to get closer.

I would try and stay within 10 feet of the rider, since the wide angle of the gopro makes it seem like you're much further away and so the footage you shoot won't really look all that great otherwise.
