Q. Can you hear four 6.5's at 80' behind a Malibu Sportster?

A. No, (OK, maybe you will be able to tell they are playing but you won't be able to make out the song at riding speed).

Four 6.5's work fine on an I/O with underwater exhaust outlets.

If you want a full sounding tower speaker, upgrade to the Pro 485, I run the 485's because I like the full sound.

If there was a cheaper solution, it would be on my boat. Getting decent sound to the rider is a tough problem. There are only a few good solutions available, Wetsounds has two of them.

proaudio speakers from wetsounds, NVS, or skylon will be do the job no questions asked..

the only non hcld that worked imo was 4 6x9's in a custom box driven by a really big amp..
