I've read trick tips and I have a couple of friends who can do front rolls and a couple that have attempted but haven't pulled it off. I guess I'm looking for a little first hand advice on what you think helped you on landing this trick.
I've heard "over rotate it." And some recent good advice I heard was "act like you're running up to the end of a diving board to do a jump - meaning, take your cut, but at the wake take it up and over instead of low and fast."

My toeside jumps have progressively gotten better as of late and I'm no longer scared to take a nice hard cut at it so I think I could do pretty well on an attempt. Time to sack up. Any thoughts?

David,
I've always heard the scarecrow is the best progression into the ts front roll. The rotation natural pulls you to fakie.

Can you do other inverts? The scarecrow is like the backroll in that the rope does the work for you as long as your trip flip is correct.

Ooh, actually the front roll is more like a tantrum. I learned the front roll first and the guy I learned it from told me to cut in hard (similar to tantrum) with handle on front hip. At the very top of the wake stand really tall, then when you get bucked off the wake tuck your chin in and go forward. About 3 quarters of the way around let go with your back hand and spot the shore. When you land you need to try to land with knees bent over your toes, so get used to landing with the handle in the same position you had on takeoff, but with only one hand.

Yo David,

A couple other things that may help you aside from what has already been mentioned. First, I always under rotate landing as you would on a trampoline, landing flat. I slide out and land on my ass. Over rotate it and try to land on your toes and cut away from the boat (for me this was a bit of a brain fart from the tramp). Two, I pick a spot directly across the water (a tree or the shoreline or a hot chick on the beach, whatever) to make sure I do a clean front summersault in the air without spinning.

TS Backroll is the exact same thing but you're doing a backward summersault instead.

TS, I’d try the crow first if you can land switch comfortably.

Thanks for the tips. I'm going out tomorrow and will try one. Or two.
