Last week Rathy landed a switch toe 10, a first for him. I'm surprised it hasn't made the alliance or this site yet, are people doing 10's not news any more?

magellan 02-24-2009 6:05 PM

DU 10's are old news.
A wake to wake 10 will be news. A back 10. A toe back 10. A clean 12.
Progression baby!

lakemiltonwake08 02-24-2009 7:03 PM

I would of liked to hear about it. Props to Rathy.

kylepower8 02-24-2009 7:08 PM

ralph 02-24-2009 7:25 PM

Yes on film, Global Warning crew shot it in HD

kylepower8 02-24-2009 7:41 PM

wakeparent 02-24-2009 8:36 PM

id like to see someone do a stylish 1080 before anything else is done its all about style. aka not huck fest but congrats to rathy switch toe is pretty tech tho

Larry

mckenna 02-25-2009 2:59 PM

would still like to hear about 10s going down.
its been a while since someone new stepped up and did one too...

waketherainbow 02-25-2009 4:47 PM

This is rathy's second 10 variation if I'm not mistaken and his first was as ill as they come

stephan 02-25-2009 5:10 PM

Toe back 10... not sure if I'll ever see the day. front hand initiated spins are a biotch. That 10 would be news. What am I saying, all 10s are huge dub or not!! Congrats Rathy!!!

wake77 02-25-2009 5:19 PM

No one has landed a regular heel 1080 if I'm not mistaken. One reg toe, multiple switch heel/toe.

texastbird 02-25-2009 5:46 PM

I thought Harf hit a heel 10?

In any case, way to go, Aaron!

lfadam 02-25-2009 5:56 PM

it was switch HS. noone (except maybe Kenney) has done a regular HS 10.

waketherainbow 02-25-2009 6:40 PM

xistential 02-25-2009 6:45 PM

He landed it last week in NZ.Probably why it was not such a big thing here. Mainly because hardly anyone knew.

wakeslife 02-25-2009 7:27 PM

The doubleup is so big in Tom's link its like an earthquake hit. Sick!

lfxstar 02-26-2009 3:44 AM

I have to jump in here and throw down an opinion that I think most of you will agree with. These guys are so good switch and regular that they really don't have a switch. If they have only landed a switch heel 10 pursay without doing a regular 10, then it should not be called switch. Until you are doing that trick switch and regular, then claim it as switch. It is like on x-games snowboard big air where the guy did a switch 12 and the other guy did his trick regular and they were hootin' and hollerin' that this dude should advance because his trick was switch. If you can do a 1260 switch, then i am sorry, it does not add any more difficulty then doing it regular. In fact the bigger seems harder to do regular so I almost am giving more props to them right now.

lfxstar 02-26-2009 3:48 AM

and Darren, maybe they are intentionally keeping this one under the radar so they can use it for some video footage. Every time lately someone lands an amazing trick, the clip pops up and then when we see it in the video, we just think "meh i've already seen that switch heel 10 before". Now when they release the video, there can finally be some surprises. Something gives me a feeling more than just this 10 has been landed on film without us knowing...

lakemiltonwake08 02-26-2009 5:30 AM

Kyle, I agree. Although most probably still have a dominant stance, the difference between the two is pretty null.

bill 02-26-2009 7:07 AM

well i guess tens arent where are sports progression is,apparently its building a winch and tresspassing on propertys to winchboard..(jk)

joking anyway i think tens are still cool and greta to hear the young guns are pushing it behind a boat.

waterdork88 02-26-2009 4:15 PM

progression isnt in the tresspassing but in the location and how you use it

Props to Rathy, I cant wait to see it

wake77 02-26-2009 4:35 PM

Well, there has to be a reason that no one has landed a reg. heel 10. Danny in 2006 started the trend of 1080's being landed regularly and multiple 10's have been landed switch heel and toe, one regular toe, but no regular heel. I agree that pro's ride switch as good as they ride regular, but if has to be seen that no one has landed a reg heel 10, so that is a feat that people should be gunning for.

It's like Shane's toe back 720 two years ago. It was a big deal when he landed it. Just as it will be a feat when someone lands the reg. heel 10.

airborne7 02-26-2009 4:42 PM

atta boy rathy, he had a huge 2008 and looks like 2009 wont be any different

mckenna 02-26-2009 7:55 PM
