HS BS 1 One Wake

Ok, so I've been trying these both out in the flats and off the startup roller (inside out). The closest I've gotten was out in the flats (actually landed, but got excited and then caught my edge). Since then, I haven't been able to land any!! Inside out it feels like the rope is pulling me off axis everytime and I get worked. I am slowing the boat down to about 19mph, but even then the side of my head takes a beating when trying these. Not sure how to correct this (the getting off axis part). Any pointers/helpful hints appreciated. BTW, I can ride relatively comfy cuffed (both hands) on the side where I'm trying to land the HS BS 1.

Thanks,

Tony

Pop straight up. Hard to say without vid, but it sounds like you might be trying to spin before you are in the air. Once you are off the water you can initiate the trick just by looking over your back shoulder and going to the small of your back with the handle. Don't look down. Keep your head up and follow the horizon to you balanced. Land with a little edge and lean against the rope.

Yeah, I think i'm getting hung up on the rotation instead of getting good pop. Come to think of it, the one time I almost rode away (out in the flats) I really just thought about getting good height and the rotation almost came natural. Rope tension was almost none existent and I wasn't really thinking about it being an issue. It was just a matter of turning my head toward my back shoulder and bam. I've tried tweeking things like my body position, handle position, and it seems it just effed everything up.... Not going out until next Tuesday and really want to land a few before summer is out. Thanks.

Tony
