George/Howie: As long as its over a weekend, I am so there!! I love road trips. I do good at holding down the back seat with my pillow and blankets. heh. But seriously, I am so down! In may 03 we bought VLX 03 demo boat with 50 hrs on it. Has everything we wanted. 42.5K , I figured all the bugs were out and it's just broke in......So far so good, not one issue with boat. I find that most people I know that get new boats usually have something little go wrong that messes up the weekend.........you'll put 50 hrs on a boat in less than a month. If your not in a hurry it might be the way to go.
