I got a chance to look at the new 05's today. The tower is a brushed aluminum clear coat shiny o3 style tower. The speakers looked like the deafcons, but had the nautique logo on it. Polk audio were the stock interior speakers, the mirror mount is a billet arm attachment to the tower, comes standard with every boat with a tower. I wonder if that is going to up the price to over 60k? .....otherwise the boats is the same as all other teams from 02, didnt see if they changed the rear tanks to make them under the locker? Will the 04 boats with the differnt style tower be more or less valuable than the newer or older teams?
Mike

Any news on if colord decks will be avaiable, More color options

tlb 07-21-2004 6:18 PM

I figured they'd change the tower. Can't wait to see one

greatdane 07-21-2004 6:30 PM

Excellent if they dumped the 04 "metrosexual" tower.

cdm 07-21-2004 6:43 PM

shocker.....

socalwakepunk 07-22-2004 4:56 PM

04 "metrosexual" tower? When I ordered my '04, I actually asked the dealer if they would be able to put an '03 tower on it. After getting a few opinions and sleeping on it, Decided to take a chance and get the new ('04) tower. One of the best decisions I made last year. Tower folds down within an inch of the windshield, and is strong as hell. Actually now like the looks of it better than anything else on the market. I don't think I believe you about the tower being strong as hell, Jeff. I think you should give me a pull so I can verify this.

mdan 07-22-2004 6:30 PM

No colored decks for 05. wedge tanks still on top of the locker, not under it. Still has the block off plate in the lockers so you cant put your larger boards in? or even a nice v drive bag?
The tower was changed due to....I would rather not say. I guess the best team edition for me would be a 02, or 03 or wait till they change the team in o6.

fyi
socalwakepunk 07-22-2004 6:44 PM

Adam, have I ever lied to you? I usually only reserve pulls for people with smiley faces .

Mike, wedge tanks still on top of locker, not under it? Can you explin this slowly so I can understand? Go ahead, tell us why the tower is being changed.

(Message edited by socalwakepunk on July 22, 2004)

mdan 07-22-2004 6:56 PM

Jeff,
The wedge tanks sit on top of the v drive locker floor space. You can remove them and put in larger bags. I was hoping for o5, the tanks would be under the lockers, so you could still put a full size bag in. Right now, you cant fill a bag up in the wedge tank configuration, well fully fill it up. I can not comment on the tower change, I signed waivers and such not to comment on the towers....Oh ••••••••••• correct craft people are knocking at my door.

You can ask your dealer when they come out next month.
socalwakepunk 07-22-2004 7:13 PM

I'm still not understanding the problem with the tanks. They sit on the locker floor as it is. Any lower and they would be external. What's the difference if you put stuff on top of the tank as is, or on top of a locker floor that has been moved up to accomidate the tank. I see no space savings.

The trick is to order the flat tanks. Then you could put a full size bag (FLuid Concepts 1644)on top if you want. Personally I use the POP Products weight bags (40lbs each), 8 over each tank, and 10 in the bow.

Is there any way to make these bigger?

I would like the tanks to be internal somehow, below the floor, on the inside of the hull in the locker, somewhere else, I think the 211 teams have internal ballast tanks in the vdrive locker compartment.??
Mike

the flat tanks are the way to go, I have them and use straitline 350s on top of them.

radikal 07-23-2004 10:27 AM

you tell that you put 8 sack of 40 pounds, why dont put 1 big sack ?

I go buy a SANTE 05 this afternoon, do you recommend it to me or not ?

thane_dogg 07-23-2004 11:06 AM

wake addict: the pop products weight bags are full of metal shot and shavings so you can move them around easily and they conform to the area you put them in. Wake is washy on one side? no problem, move a bag...or two.

Jeff: your boat is sick. love it.

lucky 07-23-2004 11:46 AM

Is there a website for the"Pop"products, where can you buy them.

ilovetrains 07-23-2004 12:08 PM

what the hell is the tower deal?

Also, dealer said they only make powder coat towers.

magellan 07-23-2004 1:41 PM

When was the last hull change for the SAN?
If I remember correctly it has been a few (4) years..??

lfxstar 07-23-2004 5:44 PM

hasnt changed since 94, it is the hull of the super sport

lfxstar 07-23-2004 5:48 PM

btw i put a 550 on top of my tanks in the back, i have an 04 and i fill it to about 95%. You guys need to learn how to fill your weight

mdan 07-23-2004 5:50 PM

I do believe they had a hull change in 1999 called the pro air? I think it used the twc? hull shape, had chimes in it, lasted one season? That was the only hull change from 1994 till the current boat. They did change the angle of the prop in 2002 on all supers. This was the only modification to the hull, of course the deck was changed in 2002 also.

mdan 07-23-2004 5:57 PM

Kyle,
you can fill a 550 bag in your san? How? I have the flat tanks and fill my 350 straightline bags fully vented out my thru hulls, they are right at the top of the vdrive lockers. I bought the 550s first, but there was now way the straigt line 550's were going to fit unless I took the tanks out.
any pics of your lockers filled with the bags, what type of bags did you use? My buddy who has a team could use some other bags for his vdrive locker, he wants a wake as big as mine.

socalwakepunk 07-23-2004 6:15 PM

"You guys need to learn how to fill your weight"? You might want to rephrase this, Kyle.

thane_dogg 07-23-2004 7:47 PM

Greg: We wish there was a web-site where you could order the bags but it would kind of defeat the purpose when you pay for shipping. My buddy is the guy who makes the bags. A lot of people in SoCal (well pretty much every person I ride with) use(s) them in their boat. If you lived in SoCal you could get some.

bigjackamo 07-27-2004 11:23 AM

Quick update, (sorry Dane) but the "metrosexual" tower is staying for 05. For my 2 cents, after I got used to the new tower I like it. It fits easier into the garage and allows for a slightly bigger bimini.

fbroen 07-27-2004 1:11 PM

I thought the TWC Pro Air was in 2001 and a D-Drive? Was there ever a V-Drive with the TWC?

bigjackamo 07-27-2004 1:31 PM

Fredrik you are correct there was not a V-Drive with the TWC.

boarder1995 07-27-2004 1:35 PM

Nope - TWC only for 1999-2001? and only in a DD.

mdan 07-27-2004 3:08 PM

1999 super air with the twc hull. Has chimes in the bottom. My friend has the 1999 super air with two bottom chimes in it. Has the twc sticker on it. 1999 also had the pro air, dd version with the twc hull and rakes too. I will take some pictures of his boat. Any idea why Mapple did this to the boat hull?

Metrosexual tower will be offered on o5's,probably left over towers, but the stock tower is a polished 03 type tower.

mdan 07-29-2004 6:18 PM

chimes in 99 superair

Mike, I believe those are spray relief pockets. Not 100%, but I think they were initially used to cut down spray on tournament line length skiing.

krbaugh 07-29-2004 8:42 PM

Mike you are correct sir!

ralph 07-29-2004 9:36 PM

That is different from the pro air hull, the pro air hull had some very sizable horozontal cuts/vents built into the side just back from the windscreen.

mdan 07-30-2004 5:19 AM

Darren, the pro air hull had the rakes too, it was on the direct drive boat. I think for the vdrives, they did the chimes only.
bigjackamo 07-30-2004 6:23 AM

Gentlemen those pictures actually are spray relief pockets and they are still in the Super today. The CHINES that everyone is referring to are "V" shaped cut outs that were in the Pro Air only. They were put in the hull to drop the back end in the water lower.

mdan 07-30-2004 2:35 PM

where are the spray relief pockets on the newer sans? I have a 2001 san, but do not have the cut outs on the bottom of the hull, neither does my buddies 2002 team?
