splice and cut video
 

I'm looking to piece together a few different videos of my kids doing their different activities. Does anyone know how to do this? I'm running vista. I have AI CS2, and Photoshop but that's about it. I think I may have a windows movie maker, but I've never used it. I'm using basic pocket cam (Casio). say I have a 5 min vid, I would like to snip 40 seconds here and 20 seconds there to take the best of the best. Also, is there a way to do smaller screen within a screen type stuff? Maybe split screen would work...just playin around...any ideas would help.
