Heading to Iowa City for the game Saturday and was planning on bringing the boat to hit Coralville Res on Sunday. This scared me a little though: http://www.mvr.usace.army.mil/coralville/default.htm
Anyone been out there lately? Where are the good/safe spots to ride?
Thanks!

I haven't been lately but it shouldn't be a problem. I don't have a lot of details for you. I wish I could be here cause I would love to ride.

Where do u boat in Des Moines?

pc_sledge 09-04-2009 4:50 AM

I was there recently and although the level was a little lower than usual everything was fine. As far as good places to ride, it all depends on boat traffic. Typically during weekends and peak season week nights there is just too much traffic. Try and get out early Sunday to get good water, maybe it won't be too bad now that school is back in session.

Thanks, I'll try for an early morning run Sunday. I'm used to it... it's the only way to wakeboard on Saylorville.

Hey I'll be there I would throw down some gas Money to ride.

brainrinse 09-07-2009 6:56 PM

Well... didn't get there too early so there was tons of boat traffic and debris all over the lake. Still had a good time in a cove we found on the north side. I'll try it again sometime and make sure to get out earlier in the day.

Sorry Spencer, didn't check this thread before heading out for the weekend!

I know of a spot about 50 minutes from Iowa City with great riding conditions regardless of what time it is. Let me know if you want to hit up some nice riding conditions next time your in the area. You can sleep off your tailgating headache first and still find nice water.

Brett-

I go to Coe college in Cedar Rapids and I really need someone to ride with I'm dying here. It's been a few weeks of no riding. I have gas money and would love to meet up with some other boarders up here.

I live in CR and plan to hit the res tonight around 5. Im not gonna ride cuz of my shoulder, but got one, possible 2 others going. Plus my kids have been dying to get out on the tube a little. Got room for a couple more if anyone wants a pull.
