Quote

About Wakeboarding: Wakeboarding is a gymnastic watersport done behind a specialised towboat, where riders use the boat’s wake to create a take off ramp, enabling them to do spectacular tricks. They are judged subjectively according to intensity, creativity and execution with the tricks similar to those done in snowboarding, skating and surfing. The world’s most rapidly growing watersport has developed into one of the most progressive sports of the contemporary era. Wakeboarding is responsible for producing a new variety of sports including wakeskating and wakesurfing. New styles of riding have been invented and now kickers and sliders are part of competitive wakeboarding, where slider rails and floating jumps are positioned in the water for the riders to launch off, similar to a skateboard street course. As a spectator sport, wakeboarding attracts sporting enthusiasts of all ages, especially males aged between 15 – 30.

I thought this was a good definition of wakeboarding from an outsiders perspective. But what about us guys over 30?

No kidding Steven - I was 35 when I finally learned to do a Raley... After all, we can't help it if we were born 15 years before the sport was....

(Message edited by poprox on February 15, 2005)

JB!

What's up buddy? Thank you for the kind words. Yes, I've been getting a lot of love from both mags and things are ramping up quite fast. I'm in Arizona working and shooting. I will be covering a few events for WW this summer and traveling a bit on the road. Lindsay is in Alaska teaching and may be on the road to help Wolfe get the M2R off and running. Shoot me a call and let's go play some Black Jack!

Bottom of this press release:
http://www.wakeworld.com/getarticle.asp?articleid=34

Hahn

(Message edited by solo on February 15, 2005)
