Looks like the lake is dropping upwards of 2% a week. http://www.mcwra.co.monterey.ca.us/Agency_data/ReservoirData/CurrentReservoirData/d&r_current_n.htm

....uhhhhh, I think that's about 1.2 feet per week, and at 167' depth it's about 0.7% (depth). I've seen Shasta drop a foot in less than 2 days......

.....uhhhh, Steve, Their talking about capacity not depth if the lake were a jar with straight sides your calculations although they would still be wrong might be closer to correct. A lake gets narrower towards the bottom so the capacity will not vary on a nominal scale, relitive to the depth.
.... Just figured I would help out. Bruce was just quoting the lakes site and I would say that they know more than any of us on what the capacity of the lake is.

it is a bummer that it is dropping so fast, but it is still better than it has been in a while. I will take what I can get.

...sorry, my bad. bored at work. But actually the lake tables available on the web give a surface acre measurement, which is the number I think we care about. In this case, it is currently being reduced a bit over 1%/week. Agreed, that will accelerate as the lake gets lower (narrower), assuming same outflow. A friend has a place back by the narrows and I have a pic of his truck (not boat) parked in his boat slip that was sitting on the dirt....capacity, depth, surface acres...whatever, it sucks when it gets that low.

Even with as much as they are letting out it is still way above the levels it has been the past few years and there is no sign of islands or stumps.
