x_star05 05-10-2005 10:15 AM

For those of you who don't think MasterCraft is everything its said to be, read this... <BR> <BR><a href="http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=2760" target="_blank">http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=2760</a> <b><font color="ff0000">READ THE WHOLE THING!!!</font></b>} <BR> <BR>just incase you don't read all of it, read the FIRST post and then go to page 10, and look for post #97 and read that... <BR> <BR>(Message edited by x_star05 on May 10, 2005)

jlm 05-10-2005 10:28 AM

read that earlier. The others may be good too, but that's why I OWN a MasterCraft. I'm sure that any other manufacturer would stand behind a brand new boat. After all, isn't that what warranty is for. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by jlm on May 10, 2005)

h20jnky 05-10-2005 10:47 AM

everything it is said to be? ryan, any manufacturer who stands behind their product would follow these same measures to keep a paying customer happy. example, back when we purchased our '03 tige 22v, it had similar issues (ecm) and our dealer was there with tige every step of the way to offer full replacement of the boat, if the problem couldn't get resolved. malibu, cc, supra, moomba, etc... have all done this in the past and it makes mc no different---does it? <BR>i think the underlying issue here is why did an '05 x10 need to have a new transmission and engine in the first place? i don't follow the mc board, so i didn't catch the initial reason? and we all know you are really excited about you and your dad's new boat but mate, trying to sell a mc to everyone you talk to is not going to give you "wings" on this board... so step back, take a deep breath and wait for your new baby to arrive. we can't wait to see the pics. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/wink.gif" border=0>

big_ed_x2 05-10-2005 11:06 AM

SWEEEET!Alwats good to know that you will be taken care of in a more then fair way!! <BR>

luchog 05-10-2005 11:19 AM

I think that is a reason to beware before getting a MC

uga33 05-10-2005 11:25 AM

Agree with H20jnky. It is always good to hear when manufactures stand behind their products and their dealer network. Just like how Centurion bent over backwards for me when a crappy dealer sold me my 1st new boat with a cracked block already. That is great story and it is good Mastercraft is going the extra mile to accommodate their customer.

auto 05-10-2005 12:24 PM

i am positive no other boat manu's give this kind of service<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/uhoh.gif" border=0> pre-ownership googles ya think?

h20jnky 05-10-2005 12:33 PM

hopefully ryan's brand new $100k x star won't need a new engine and transmission before he gets to use it? but reassuring to know that mc will correct "their" problem if any issues arise...

kybool 05-10-2005 2:06 PM

I know someone who didn't have quite the same experience with MC. It is actually quite a horror story. He was lead around for a good amount of time before the necessary actions were taken to correct the problem. It's a long story though and I am not going to get into it. Just know that for every warm and fuzzy story there is an equally bad one.

big_ed_x2 05-10-2005 2:23 PM

Scott ~ And you mean that for every boat RIGHT!?!? <BR> <BR>So what your point!?!?

kybool 05-10-2005 2:31 PM

of course I meant every boat. this thread is labeled "why buy an mc". before I have a bunch of mc shoved down my throat I just wanted to state that. I could have a thread labeled "why not to buy an MC" just as easily. MC isn't the only boat company that takes care of it's customers. no harm intended big ed. I know you love your x2!

joe_788 05-10-2005 2:52 PM

Scott, just out of curiosity, you wouldn't happen to be talking about a particular X30 up in the Tahoe area, would you? <BR> <BR>

big_ed_x2 05-10-2005 2:52 PM

true but what I meant was for every warm and fuzzy natique story there is an equally bad one! <BR>and yes you can say that for evey boat so my question was ...what was the point other then trying to get under poor little Ryan's skin!

big_ed_x2 05-10-2005 2:56 PM

and yes I'm sure he is gonna love his boat just as much as me.And just like everybody else....They love their own boat. Can you blame the guy,he is only 19 and getting a completly blinged out X Star.I'm just a little jelous myself I'm just happy for him.I know what I would have done to just be on a boat with that caliber when I was 19 muchless to be a family boat!

kybool 05-10-2005 3:01 PM

that pretty much was the point. This kid needs to give it up. He posted the same thread on wb.com and is already being attacked by the hounds over there. It's great<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/biggrin.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR><a href="http://forums.wakeboarder.com/viewtopic.php?t=42465" target="_blank">http://forums.wakeboarder.com/viewtopic.php?t=42465</a>

big_ed_x2 05-10-2005 3:09 PM

He is exited!! let him be.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/happy.gif" border=0>

tyler97217 05-10-2005 3:29 PM

B Walker - LOL...Very nice... I was thinking the same thing as I watch these posts on both boards... funny stuff. Gotta give Ryan the award for the most hits on all of his posts!!!!

h20jnky 05-10-2005 4:10 PM

ed, <BR>it's official, we just got approval for chipping in to buy you a spell checker for your commodore 64... <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/proud.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR>"exited" to exit, or to leave your last destination. <BR>which makes your last post even better in principle.

berad 05-10-2005 4:24 PM

I know most manufacturers stand behind thier product but I know very few Mastercrat owners with anything but good things to say. I know I'm happy.

wiltok 05-10-2005 4:30 PM

I think a lot of it depends on the dealer. They can make or break the brand.

bigthunder 05-10-2005 6:21 PM

I purchased an 04 X-30 at a boat show in Tampa...took it back to primary residence in Atlanta. I had a minor issue with the sound system. The dealer called to make sure every aspect of my Mastercraft "exceeded my expectations". Upon learning of the problem I was experiencing, the dealer insisted on flying to my location and repairing the problem. Needless to say, I was quite impressed! Mastercraft produces a high quality product and offers the same level of high caliber service. Thumbs up to Mastercraft for taking care of these people.

tlb 05-10-2005 7:10 PM

Somebody make this kid go away. Everything he says is like he's rubbing it in your face. I agree MC makes an awesome boat but having this kid preach to us about buying one when he dosen't know what he's talking about makes me laugh.

auto 05-10-2005 8:08 PM

ed, if ole wannabe was pimpin Bu's I would be emabarassed and still want him to STFU.

big_ed_x2 05-10-2005 8:41 PM

Ryan ~ Yeah my problem is not spelling is actually typing but I guess either way you got a point.with people like you around I definetly got to reread my post before I post it. <BR> <BR>And I meant to spell excited!Never took typing in high school.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/proud.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR> <BR>Shane ~ All I'm sayin is the guy is 19 years old and the whole net jumped on him and now the guy just wants to defend himself,I'm not even sayin that he is right in all this, just that he is young excited and the guy needs a break!

h20jnky 05-10-2005 9:41 PM

sorry ed, all those years of proofreading the twins english papers... but yes, i will be watching your spelling, punctuation and grammar like a hawk! <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/wink.gif" border=0>

auto 05-11-2005 5:13 AM

ed, not disagreeing with you, but wannabe had several chances to say yeah I made it mistake, instead it was an excuse as to each previous action. <BR> <BR>Everytime he posts, it is pure fluff to support whatever action he has decided upon. I don't think he will gain a lot of friends at this site, besides from the 15 YO at home wanting his dad to buy him a blinged boat of choice. <BR> <BR>Look at it this way, if the kid survives the bombardment he should do well in sales and consulting<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/biggrin.gif" border=0>, industries full of rejection and beat down.

zboomer 05-11-2005 5:43 AM

I don't know why, but every time Ryan posts something, I get this strong urge to kick him in the nuts. Wierd, eh?

jlm 05-11-2005 5:57 AM

this is classic <BR><a href="http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=2680" target="_blank">http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=2680</a>

ummm what kind of car do you think he will drive?

tyler97217 05-11-2005 8:58 AM

my guess would be H2

ripr 05-11-2005 9:09 AM

Why would the boat come to Chicago to get 'painted'? And who's doing the gel work here in Chicago?

skibum69 05-11-2005 9:19 AM

If it's getting painted at 3M, I think it's at their industrail paint plant. Seams silly to paint the hull, when they could do it in gel coat at the MC factory, Gel coat would last a lot longer. Ever see how bad a 8+ year old painted hull in saltwater looks?

tlb 05-11-2005 2:37 PM

I've never heard of MC "painting" their new boats. I think this kid is an IDIOT. My guess is it's his first boat of any kind and he dosen't know what the hell he's talking about. I'd love to be at the ramp the first day they try to take that thing out. I bet it gets beat up after the first few times out. terrible to have happen to such a nice boat.

x_star05 05-11-2005 2:59 PM

Tom Barnard ,I bet you have NO IDEA what you are talking about! My parents own a Hatteras (which is a yacht) just incase you didn't know. I have been around boats all my life. MasterCraft will be painting my boat. Call any MasterCraft dealer, and ask them if the barb wire boats they made were painted. After you call them, and they tell you “yes, MasterCraft is painting these barb wire boats” please re-post here and say “I was wrong. It appears MasterCraft really is painting these boats.” <BR> <BR>I think you are an IDIOT…

mhayes 05-11-2005 4:08 PM

Oooooh, testy aren't we? I'm sure that us commoners are glad that your parents own a yacht, and the fact that you pointed out that a Hatteras is a yacht was a bonus to the thread. I hope one day you look back at all of your postings and realize that Tom was right.....you are an IDIOT!! By the way, do you have any Grey Poupon?

ryanbush11 05-11-2005 4:18 PM

since when does 3M paint things? I thought they did stickers, and stickey stuff... <BR> <BR>(Message edited by ryanbush11 on May 11, 2005)

My daddy owns a yacht, and he bought me a new x-star! I'm soo cool<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0> <BR>Sorry guys, I couldn't resist

auto 05-11-2005 10:45 PM

no ryan our guesses about YOU are not wrong, but keep posting, you certianly do make for cheap enternainment. Since you parents do own a Hatteras, a few posts over at boatersed.com such provide a thorough thrashing of your attitude.

mx21 05-11-2005 11:19 PM

GEEZ - this is entertaining. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR>Come on, someone poke that 19 y/o with a stick again.....

grud8 05-12-2005 1:44 AM

Making more friends I see Ryan. Is the whole world just jealous of you? Or have you just alienated yourself from the world you are trying so hard to be a part of? I am shocked you still have the balls to post anything. Ironically I almost admire that...until I remember you are probably just too thick to realize you are the village idiot...

skibum69 05-12-2005 5:34 AM

I think I agree with Barefooter for life, although I see his point with a yacht. If he has driven around a yacht, they are very demanding on knowing your routes, draft, depths. Not to mention the Ports/marinas do not have much more between things than most we all use. It can be very tricky piloting a yacht around. I just got my first experiance a few weeks ago piloting a yacht around the Keys. But, if it is a yacht with a crew that runs it for you, then thats another story.... His threads are entertaining neverless.

skibum69 05-12-2005 5:37 AM

Oh yeah, 3M is into almost everything, they make/have made, projectors, fuel cells, paint(industrial), plastic, circuit boards, reflective materials, optical films..... to name a few. <BR> <BR>I'd be very suprised if the younger people even know what 3M stands for.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR>(Message edited by skibum69 on May 12, 2005)

Greetings... <BR> <BR>I wandered over here from the MC site (where I'm a reg) after reading about this thread on the MC site. This thread is rather comical. Let me add that I read a post from the gal that had the issue with the MC that basically stated she was less than thrilled that this young man has used her as MC propaganda all over the internet. I'm not sure what his angle is? Anyhow, happy skiing/boarding.

drcrow2 05-16-2005 10:06 AM

if you go to the tmc ,planet natique, wakesiderides,or the malibu crew web sights, you will read about all kinds of problems and situations with all the big three boats. some problems and situations are simular, and some are not. in there own way for whatever anyones reasoning is they are all good boats. they all have quirks and bugs, and decrepincies. my $.02

ethomass 05-16-2005 6:52 PM

Ryan (05xstar) Where in maryland will you be riding. I ride either the severn river or patapsco river. When/ If you get this boat i want to see this thing for real.

linus8103 05-18-2005 4:59 PM

Ryan, <BR>I have been reading your posts for awhile, and I normally dont say much on this site. I ride in MD too and I know you are telling the truth about your boat because I live a 1/2 mile from the MC dealer, and I have mentioned you to Lou before. <BR>Now here is where your youth stands in the way of you making friends on this site. Most of the people on this site work very hard just to have a boat to ride behind. I am one of those people. We can be very happy for you if you chill out and post without starting such heated discussions. Yes MC is a great boat, but some of us blue collar guys are proud of our boats too and may not want to hear you gloat. I am just trying to help you understand why people may get defensive. It doesnt bother me but I can see why people are starting to give you a hard time. Hope this helps. If you want to ride on the wye..I will give ya a pull until your x-star is ready.
