In the user manual for the XS-12 it has plans for a tube port. I'm looking at building a slot ported box for an XS-12 and was wondering if anyone else had built one and what the dimensions were for the box/slot?

Corey why are you set on a slot port. Round ports properly tuned sound better than slot ports 9.5 times out of 10, especially if you use a round port with flared ends.

Either use the 3" tube port they recommend or call John Gyver at WS and ask him. Justin (tier 1 customer service guy) told me to call him before changing their enclosure plans. Not really set on anything, have just built slotted port boxes in the past and like the structure/look of them. If the consensus is tubed, then tubed is what will be built <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/happy.gif" border=0>

So your 3-inch round port should be seven square inches (1" X 7" or 2" X 3 1/2", etc.) <BR> <BR>The port length and surface area determine the resistance which combines with the box internal compliance and woofer parameters to arrive at a tuned frequency.
