Wake is not bad, slightly sensitive to weight placement. Great rough water boat for the size. A debate still is ongoing if it has fiberglass stringers or uses would. The entire Nautique lineup went to 100% composite in 1993, but the Excel/Barefoot makes no mention of that in any of their brochures or catalogs. Every other boat in the lineup has the composite stringer system denoted as a separate line item. The guys on CorrectCraftFan can't even prove it one way or the other.

Other than that, I heard the surf wake is not very good.
