D80 is what I got and love it.

Canon just came out with the XSi, check it out. Either one of those listed will be great, as along as you get a better lens than the stock kit lens.

I would stick with the rebel, or go up to the nikon D80. Not having a focusing motor in the camera is a big limiter to lense selection.
